Learn Nordic Skiing with Us! Registration is Open for Nordic Ski Lessons and Clinics

The Frisco Nordic Center is once again offering a variety of clinics, lesson programs, and events for the 2022- 2023 season, including women’s skate ski clinics, co-ed skate ski clinics, private Nordic ski Lessons, and guided tours.

The Frisco Nordic Center is opening on December 1, 2022, with both women’s and co-ed clinics scheduled to start in early January.

“Nordic skiing is such a fun way to move on snow, regardless of where you are in your experience or fitness journey, and is awesome cross-training for so many other sports. As a new skate skier and past clinic participant, I really appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable the instructors were as I learned this sport. If you are looking for a unique gift idea, or perhaps a gift for yourself, a lesson package or clinic would fit the bill,” stated Veronika Hewitt, communications specialist at the Town of Frisco.

Private ski lessons and tours

Private ski lessons provide a friendly environment to learn the basics of the sport or to focus on personal goals.Guided ski and snowshoe tours offer the opportunity to see a variety of scenery and learn about local history, flora, and fauna. Lessons and guided tours are tailored to individual needs with classic, skate, or off-track skiing available.

Private ski lessons and tours times and rates

All of the Nordic Center’s tours and lessons are now private, and lesson and tour prices include a day pass, but do not include equipment rentals. Private lessons and tours go out at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm each day and can accommodate up to 10 people maximum with a cost of $75 per person, or $60 per person for groups of five or more. Participants must be six years or older to participate in lessons.

Parties of one can register online, however, reservations for more than one person must be made by calling 970-668-2570. Lessons and tours are not available during special events.

Lesson Punch Pass

The Frisco Nordic Center offers lesson punch passes, which include four private lessons for $260 (a savings of $10 per lesson). Lessons are fully customized to a skier’s skill level and desired technique, classic or skate. Lesson punch passes are valid for one year from purchase date and are non-transferable.

Women’s Skate Ski Clinics

Women’s skate ski clinics, taught by local instructors, allow participants to develop their skills and meet other women who are interested in skiing together. Participants must have previous ski experience, good balance, and be physically fit. Private lessons are recommended for those who are unsure if skate skiing is a good fit.

Clinics are divided into beginner and intermediate skill levels, and there will be two different sessions for each level. Each clinic meets weekly for four weeks, excluding holidays, with two hours of instruction each day.

  • Session I- beginners will meet on four Mondays, starting January 2, 2023 (no class on January 16)
  • Session I- intermediate skiers will meet on four Thursdays, starting January 5, 2023
  • Session II- beginners will meet on four Mondays, starting February 6, 2023 (no class on February 20)
  • Session II- intermediate skiers will meet on four Thursdays, starting February 2, 2023

Rental equipment and trail passes are included in the registration fee of $150 for season pass holders and $200 for non-season pass holders.

Co-Ed Skate Ski Clinics

Co-Ed skate ski clinics welcome everyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of skate skiing and is interested in meeting some new skiing friends. Each clinic meets weekly for four weeks, excluding holidays, with two hours of instruction each day.

  • Session I- beginners will meet on four Tuesdays, starting January 3, 2023
  • Session I- intermediate skiers will meet on four Wednesdays, starting January 4, 2023
  • Session II- beginners will meet on four Tuesdays, starting January 31, 2023
  • Session II- intermediate skiers will meet on four Wednesdays, starting February 1, 2023
  • Session III- intermediate skiers will meet on four Wednesdays, starting March 1, 2023

Rental equipment and trail passes are included in the registration fee of $150 for season pass holders and $200 for non-season pass holders.

Frisco Nordic Center and Frisco Adventure Park General Information

The Frisco Nordic Center  is  open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every day. Daily trail passes for individuals (13-64) are $27, seniors (65+) are $22, and children (12 and under) are free.
