We will open for the 2026 season on Friday, May 29, 2026, water and weather dependent.

Online reservations for all Power and Paddle rentals open on April 1st, 2026.

Important: Arrival Time for Powerboat Rentals

Check-In Time

Please arrive at the marina 1 hour before your reservation time.

Boat Departure Time

Your reservation time is when your boat departs, not when you arrive.

Due to low water levels, additional time is needed to transport guests to their boats before departure.

This extra time allows for:

Guests to plan on walking approximately 0.3 miles (5–10 minutes) from the marina office to the dock, where our team will assist with boarding. Shuttle assistance may be available for those who need additional help.
Transport by boat from shore to the floating dock, where your rental boat will be waiting.
Completion of safety instructions before departure.

Guests who arrive less than 1 hour before their reservation may have reduced time on the water, as we cannot delay departures for late arrivals.

Boat shuttles from land depart at scheduled times to ensure guests arrive at their boats and depart on time.

Fishing in Dillon Reservoir

Dillon Reservoir provides good fishing for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, and arctic char.

Bait and licenses are available at the Marina Office. Colorado Law requires a fishing license for anyone 16 years old or older. If you would like to purchase online, please visit the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website. Please leave extra time before your reservation if you need to purchase a fishing license at the Marina.

Fishing pontoon boats accommodate five people with room for gear. These boats are for guests renting or bringing their own fishing gear. They drive much like a car and require no special knowledge. The boats have a bimini which covers the back half of the boat, and a 50 HP Yamaha motor built for slow-cruising. These Fishing-Pontoon boats are not built with speed in mind, but rather geared towards comfort and getting everyone out to their favorite fishing spots. It has two front fishing seats strategically positioned for optimal casting and angling. Fuel and personal flotation devices (PFDs) included. Music/radio is not provided please bring your own Bluetooth speaker. Wheelchair accessible.

Additional Information

We’ve chosen the pontoon boats in our rental fleet for their stability and ease of use—if you can drive a car, you can operate one of our boats. Your safety and confidence on the water are our top priorities, and we provide guidance throughout the entire check-in process.

When you arrive for your reservation, all captains will first watch a water safety video in the marina office. This video explains basic boating safety, how to operate the boat, and how to recognize important markers on the reservoir that indicate safe navigation areas.

After the video, our team will review a map of Dillon Reservoir with you and provide a safety overview before heading down to the docks.

Once you arrive at the dock, a rental attendant will walk you through the boat, explaining how to operate it, where all safety equipment is located, and what you need to know to be safe on the water. Emergency procedures and important operating tips are reviewed again to ensure everyone feels comfortable and prepared before departing.

When you return from your outing, a dock attendant will be there to assist you with docking and getting safely back.

Safety instructions and key information are provided multiple times throughout the check-in process so that every captain leaves the dock confident and ready to enjoy their time on the water.

There is paid parking on all marina parking lots from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day.
Due to low water levels, all powerboat renters must check in at least 1 hour before their reservation time. Guests will need to plan on walking .3 miles (5-10 minute) from the marina office to the dock and shuttled to their boat so rentals can depart on time.
Check-in is at The Landing building, which is the brown building near the boat ramp.
All participants must sign a 2026 marina waiver. Minors can be added by parent or legal guardian. This will save time at check in!
The driver of boat must be at least 18 years or older, and all drivers must remain sober.
We collect a credit card and car keys while you are on the water as collateral.
Dogs, coolers, food, and drinks are allowed on the boat.
We do not allow BBQ grills or heaters on Marina boats.
There is no swimming in Dillon Reservoir, no beaching the power boats, and no switching of passengers.
The Frisco Bay Marina will charge an extra cleaning fee if the boat is left dirty with dog hair, food, or fish guts.
Paddle sport boats (canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, etc.) are not allowed on power boats, as they are launched in a separate area for safety reasons.
Payment in full is required at the time of reservation.
Maximum boat capacity – small (10), large (13), fishing (5), small pontoon guided tour (9), party barge guided tour (22) – dogs, children and infants are included in head count for all boat rentals.

Power boats: If you cancel within 48 hours of your start time you will be charged 20% of your reservation fee. If you cancel more than 48 hours in advance of your start time you will receive a full refund.
Weather related refunds: You will receive a full refund if we experience unsafe weather conditions AT the time of your rental and you choose/we can’t safely send you out on the water. We have a weather radar in our office to predict these conditions the best we can. Once your boat leaves the dock we cannot refund your rental.
No call, no shows will not receive a refund.

Travel & Traffic Advisory

If you are traveling to the Frisco Bay Marina via I-70, please be aware that heavy traffic is common on weekends and holidays. Construction at Exit 203 (Frisco Exit) is expected to begin Spring 2026 and continue through the summer, which may cause additional delays.

If traveling from the Denver area, we recommend planning for up to 2 additional hours of travel time on busy weekends to ensure you arrive on time for your reservation.
