55th Annual Frisco Gold Rush

Due to a historic lack of snow at the Frisco Nordic Center, the Nordic and Events team have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Frisco Gold Rush. Staff will be reaching out to those already signed up to refund them by March 9, 2026. We appreciate your support, and we look forward to hosting again in 2027!

The tradition continues! Join us for the 55th Annual Frisco Gold Rush. Gold Rush is the longest running Nordic event in Colorado and consists of classic and skate ski races open to Nordic enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Gold Rush is where the past and present come together to celebrate our historical mining heritage and embrace our snowy Nordic culture.

Community Bonfire and Fireworks

The Frisco Spontaneous Combustion bonfire and fireworks, usually held on the same day as Frisco Gold Rush, will remain on its original date, Saturday, February 7, 2026. We encourage you to join us of February 7 for Spontaneous Combustion, a community bonfire and fireworks display near the Frisco Bay Marina. The whole community is invited to the corner of Summit Boulevard/Main Street and Marina Road at 6:00pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026, to gather, swap stories and watch the bonfire and fireworks (that will start at approximately 8:00pm). This is a free event. Please be mindful of the noise should you opt to bring your furry companion. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase to benefit a local non-profit.

Pre-registration is now open. Day-of-registration will be available from 8:45am – 11:15am on Saturday, March, 14 2026, depending on distance selected, inside Slopeside Hall (605 Recreation Way, across the street from Frisco Nordic Center).

Bib Pickup/Day-of Registration

Bib pickup and day-of registration will be available from 8:45am-11:15am on Saturday, March 14, 2026 inside Slopeside Hall at 605 Recreation Way, across the street from Frisco Nordic Center. Please note start times for the various distances and plan accordingly.
Racers are encouraged to arrive 45-60 minutes prior to their start time to allow enough time to park and check-in.
All participants must complete an event waiver in order to receive their bib. Adults may fill out waivers for minors, as part of their adult waivers.

Racer Gift

All 5K, 10K, and 23K racers will receive a Dynafit Head Band. Food will be provided and racers 21+ will receive free beer from a local brewery.

Race options in 2026 included a 23K Skate Race, 10K Skate & Classic Races, 5K Skate Race, and a Kids 1K Fun Ski.

Awards & Post Race Party

Post-race party will take place at the Frisco Nordic Center. All racers will receive post-race food. Racers 21+ will receive one free beer from a local brewery. The award ceremony will take place on the backside of the Frisco Nordic Center.

Overall: The top three male/female skiers in the 5k, 10k, and 20k races will receive a prize (overall winners are not eligible for age category prizes).

Age Category Winners: A prize will be given to the first place winner in each of the following age categories for the 5K, 10K and 23K races: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
