Kids’ Sandcastle Competition

Event Info

The Kids’ Sandcastle Competition will return this summer for a morning of creativity and fun on the beach at the Frisco Bay Marina for kiddos who are 12 and under. Event participation is free with required online registration before the event (see below), and each child will receive a free ice cream. The event will happen rain or shine.

Schedule

  • Online registration is available by filling out and submitting the form below.
  • Day of registration will not be available.
  • The competition will start at 10:00am and kids will have until 11:30am to build their sandcastles.
  • Kids (12 and under) can have a team of one or up to four on their team.
  • Judging will start at 11:30am.
  • Awards will take place at 12:00pm.

Age Divisions and Prizes

Age divisions will be 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Teams with multiple children will be placed into the age division of the oldest child in their group. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place for each age division and to the overall winner.

Once again, this year’s celebrity judges will be search and rescue dogs from around Summit County. These search and rescue dogs display a love of art and fondness for sand, which makes them uniquely qualified to judge this competition.

Supplies

Children are encouraged to bring their own sandcastle building supplies and anything they would like to decorate their sandcastle with. Any items brought to enhance participants’ sandcastles must be left with the sandcastles for viewing throughout the day. Items may be picked up on the beach at 3:00pm.

Marina Paid Parking

Participants are encouraged to arrive early so they are able to find parking and be ready to create their masterpieces starting at 10:00am. Paid parking is available at the Frisco Bay Marina from 10:00am to 5:00pm for $1.25 per half hour for the first three hours, $2.50 a half hour thereafter; the first 30 minutes of parking are free, but you must still use the parking website to register for the free 30 minute parking. Participants are encouraged to walk, bike, or take the free Summit Stage bus to east Main Street Frisco which is an easy walk to the Frisco Bay Marina.
