The Sold Out Run the Rockies Road 10K & Half Marathon Takes Place Saturday, September 17 on Tenmile Recpath

The Town of Frisco will host the 46th annual Run the Rockies Road Race on Saturday, September 17, 2022.  The half marathon will start at 8:00 am and the 10k will start at 8:30 am. The race, now held in September to highlight the beautiful fall colors in Frisco, starts near Copper Mountain, continues through the Ten Mile Canyon on the Summit County Recreational Path, and ends on Frisco’s Main Street. The 10k course is 100% downhill and the half marathon course is 75% downhill. While racers know to expect and respect all users on the pathway, other Tenmile Recpath users should expect and be cautious of heavy runner traffic through 11:30 am.

“This well-loved event will showcase the beautiful fall colors in Frisco, while giving you a shot at a personal best. The 10k is a speedy, downhill course and the half-marathon is a bit more challenging as we turn runners back uphill before finishing at Main Street,” stated Linsey Joyce, Assistant Recreation & Culture Director/Programs Manager.

This sold out event offers professional timing by Maverick Sports Promotions, stocked aid stations on course, a finisher gift, and a post-race party with food, beer, and awards. This race benefits the local non-profit, Hope Squad, which provides mental health services and resources for children who attend school in Frisco with the mission to reduce youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.

Shuttle

All runners will drive themselves to the race start at Copper Mountain’s Far East Lot. Summit Express shuttles will take racers back to their car after they finish the race. Shuttles will continuously run from 9:00 am-12:00 pm, with the last shuttle leaving the Frisco Historic Park at 12:00 pm.

Post-Race Party

The post-race party and awards will take place at Frisco Historic Park on Main Street where runners over 21 years old can enjoy a cold beer from Highside Brewing and some tasty pancakes from Chris Cakes. The top three male/female overall runners in each race and first place age category winners will receive a prize. To for more race information, please visit RuntheRockies.com.
