Registration is Open for the Turkey Day 5K

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Frisco Turkey Day 5k, held on Thanksgiving Day; Thursday, November 25, 2021, at 9:30 am. Frisco’s Turkey Day 5k, presented by The Steadman Clinic and Philippon Research Institute, is open to all ages, and will draw hundreds of costume-clad participants. The 5K will begin and end one block off Frisco Main Street.

“This fun run is such a great way to celebrate with friends, family, and the Frisco community before sitting down for a big Thanksgiving meal. It’s so cool to see everyone out in costumes and enjoying the fresh air, regardless of the weather Mother Nature throws at us that day,” says Grant McKay, Town of Frisco recreation programs coordinator.

The Course

The Turkey Day 5k will take place on the Summit County Recreation Path and Town of Frisco side streets. Portions of the course will potentially include surfaces with packed snow and/or ice, and the event will take place snow or shine. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome, but snow on the route may make pushing a stroller challenging. Participants should dress in layers and be prepared for winter running conditions.

The race begins and ends at the old community center at 3rd Avenue and Granite Street (110 South 3rd Avenue, Frisco, CO). The route includes many Frisco side streets, in order to avoid potentially deep snowy conditions on parts of the County Recreation Path. Streets will remain open during the race, but there will be marshals on course to assist runners.
