Little girl with local book author at Story Walk kickoff event

Frisco’s second Story Walk kickoff event on Wednesday, September 22, 2021

The Town of Frisco is hosting a kickoff event for its second Story Walk of the summer on September 22, at 11:00 am and again at 4:00 pm, at the Frisco Adventure Park by the ball fields (616 Recreation Way) in Frisco.

A Story Walk is an outdoor path that features a children’s book posted in segments at a kid-friendly height, designed to get kids reading, moving, and engaging with the outdoors.

Frisco’s story walk is a half-mile hike on the Beach from the trailhead (by the ball fields) to Dillon Reservoir. The new featured book on the Story Walk is Quigley Goes to Gymnastics written by local Frisco author, Claudine Norden, and illustrated by Bonnie Wiegand.

The event kick-off will offer lemonade, cupcakes, and a chance to meet the author. The first six families to complete the hike at each kickoff celebration (11:00 am and 4:00 pm) will receive a free copy of the book.
Frisco’s Story Walk will be installed through September 30, 2021, weather permitting.

“Frisco’s Story Walk has been successful by encouraging children to move and be outside while fueling their curiosity. Quigley Goes to Gymnastics, written by Frisco author, Claudine Norden, entices children to complete a short hike, but also creates awareness and an opportunity for dialogue around shy children who are stepping out of their comfort zone to enjoy different activities and interests,” stated Nora Gilbertson, Special Events Manager.
