Frisco’s First Pop-up Concert Series Begins Sunday

The Town of Frisco is adding more music to its already expanded summer concert lineup with a new Pop-Up Concerts series. Each of the five concerts will feature a different musician and will take place at the Frisco Adventure Park and the Frisco Bay Marina. These minimalist, mobile productions will use Breckenridge Music’s AirStage, a converted Airstream camper for some performances, and a tent for the National Repertory Orchestra performances.

“This year, the Town of Frisco is presenting smaller, more intimate events with a focus on the arts that highlight local talent and scenic beauty. These pop-up concerts showcase the Frisco Bay Marina and Frisco Adventure Park, which enhances the atmosphere of all the cool things already happening at these locations,” stated Nora Gilbertson, Special Events Manager.

The Frisco Town Council has made it a priority to bring more art into public spaces to meet their strategic goal of vibrant arts, recreation, and culture within the community. The Pop-Up Concerts are among several initiatives within this larger goal. Visitors and residents are invited to visit Frisco’s Pedestrian Promenade, which now features a commissioned mural, art-covered barricades, an upcoming sailboat painting project, events that include interactive art opportunities, and three extra shows in the Concerts in the Park Series.

Dragondeer
Denver band Dragondeer has conjured the rhythm spirits to concoct a blend of psychedelic blues, retro funk, soul and rock-n-roll into a genre blur whose aim is to speak to souls and keep the body moving. Dragondeer is made up of four good friends who brew a musical alchemy that is song-centric with a proclivity to stretch things out and see where the evening leads. Heard across radio waves, through the trees at festivals like Electric Forrest, Firefly, and Telluride Blues, this band keeps growing and morphing.
