The Frisco Historic Park & Museum, in partnership with AstroMark, will host a free pop-up astronomy event to watch the total eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm in the Historic Park. The peak of the eclipse is expected to happen around 12:38 pm and guests are encouraged to stop by anytime during the event to view the eclipse.
NASA describes a total eclipse as the Moon passing between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. This year, Summit County is located in an area where 64% of the sun will be covered.
Free Solar Glasses
The Town of Frisco will be providing a limited number of solar glasses that can be picked up at the Visitor Information Center or the Frisco Historic Park and Museum starting on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. AstroMark will be on site with a solar telescope and can answer any questions during the event. Please note it is dangerous to look at the eclipse without solar safe glasses, and we encourage you to pick up a free pair of glasses at the Visitor Information Center or the Frisco Historic Park and Museum.
