Frisco BrewSki Returns with Skiing, Costumes, and Beer

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the Town of Frisco will host the Frisco BrewSki, a beer festival disguised as a ski event at the Frisco Nordic Center. Participants are encouraged to don costumes and ski to beer tasting tents along the Nordic Center trails to sample beers from six Colorado breweries: Broken Compass Brewing Co., Dillon Dam Brewery, New Belgium Brewing, Odell Brewing, Outer Range Brewing Co., and Pug Ryan’s Brewery.

Skiing and beer sampling will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, starting at the Frisco Nordic Center lodge, and continuing onto the Nordic Center’s groomed, scenic terrain. The after party from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at the Frisco Nordic Center lodge and deck, will wrap up the day with more libations and a costume contest. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served at tasting tents on the trail and at the after party.

BrewSki is not a race, instead, it is a chance to ski with friends and family, throw on costumes, and enjoy a beer tasting tour on scenic trails. There will be no professional timing, and prizes will be for best individual and group costumes, most ridiculous costume to ski in, and more.

If cross country skiing isn’t typically your thing, this event can change your perspective. It is an unbelievably fun and social celebration of spring skiing and welcomes everyone to move through snow however feels right for them. The costumes alone are worth coming out for, and the craft beer from our partner breweries provides a great incentive to keep skiing,” stated Acadia Stewart, recreation programs lead at the Town of Frisco.

Classic cross-country or skate skis are recommended for this event, but participants may also use snowshoes, AT, or telemark equipment. This course sticks to the mellower terrain offered at the Frisco Nordic Center, and is designed to accommodate participants of all skill levels. All participants must wear skis or snowshoes; tennis shoes or snow boots are not allowed on the groomed Nordic trails. While registration does not include ski or snowshoe rentals, discounted rentals will be available for $15 for all Brewski participants starting at 12:30pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration is $30 for adults, and $15 for youth under 18. Registration includes: a silipint (silicone half-pint cup) for sampling, beer tastings, and a Nordic Center trail pass, as well as giveaways and prizes for costumes. Online pre-registration will close at 12:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2022. Day-of registration will be available from 12:30pm-2:15pm outside of the Frisco Nordic Center on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Participants may register as individuals or as a team of 2-4 participants and provide a team name when registering. To register online or find more information about this event, please visit FriscoBrewSki.com or call 970-668-2558.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Friends of the Dillon Ranger District who will be helping to judge the costume contest and serve beverages. Frisco BrewSki is sponsored by the Town of Frisco, Broken Compass Brewing Co., Dillon Dam Brewery, New Belgium Brewing, Odell Brewing Co, Outer Range Brewing Co, Pug Ryan’s Brewery, the Frisco Nordic Center, and Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.
