Two mountain bikers racing on dual slalom course at Frisco Adventure Park

Frisco Announces New Mountain Bike Race Geared Towards Kids

The Town of Frisco is excited to announce a brand-new, youth, mountain bike race hosted on the Frisco Peninsula on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The Frisco Junior Funduro is geared toward kids ages 8-14 years old and encompasses a four-stage enduro intended to show off participants’ downhill skills. There will be limited camping available for small campers, vans, trucks with cabs, and tents, for a small fee. Registration for the Frisco Junior Funduro is now open at FriscoFunduro.com.

Frisco Junior Funduro Event Information

Families are invited to a weekend of camping and bike racing at the Frisco Adventure Park bike trails and bike park. The first mountain bike race of its kind to hit Summit County, the Frisco Junior Funduro is specifically designed for kiddos and teenagers to show off their advanced skills on a dual slalom course and three-stage enduro, featuring some of the gnarliest downhill trails in Summit County. This event is a stage race format, with the top 15 racers at each stage receiving points. All stages of the event will take place on Saturday, June 8, and participants will be split into the following age categories: 8-10 years old, 11-12 years old, and 13-14 years old.

Course Details

The Frisco Junior Funduro courses are only appropriate for kids with advanced mountain bike skills in all categories, due to the technical trails with downhill features. Kids and parents are encouraged to pre-ride the courses prior to the event and can view the course map by visiting FriscoFunduro.com. There are uphill segments on the course so a cross country/trail bike would be the most appropriate for this event, and the same bike must be used for all segments of the event. Chest protectors and appropriate protective gear are highly encouraged for all four stages. The gap feature on Aftermath trail will be closed for all categories.

Camping

There will be a limited amount of camping available for small campers, vans, trucks with cab over campers, and tents at the Frisco Adventure Park land owned by the Town of Frisco on the nights of  Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, 2024. Due to limited space, vans/trucks with cab over campers must be under 23 feet in length, and camper trailers are limited to 19 feet in length, including the trailer tongue. Tent campers will be assigned one parking spot and will have a designated tent camping area on the Frisco Adventure Park multi-purpose field. Port-a-potties will be available for the duration of the weekend, but there will be no showers on site.

Camping fees are $25 per night for small campers, vans, and trucks with cab over campers and will be assigned a 19-foot x 26-foot space in the parking lot near the baseball field. Tent camping costs $15 per night and will receive one parking space for their vehicle. Generators and campfires are prohibited. To reserve camping, visit FriscoFunduro.com.

Additional camping is available at the two US Forest Service owned campgrounds on the Frisco Peninsula; advance reservations may be made at the Peak One Campground, or camping is available on a first come, first served basis at the Pine Cove Campground.

Registration Fees

Registration fees for the race include the dual slalom race as well as the three-stage enduro race. The cost to register is $85 per rider. Camping is not included in the Frisco Junior Funduro registration fee and must be booked separately. To register, FriscoFunduro.com.
