Susan G. Komen Snowshoe for the Cure Returns to Frisco Nordic Center this Saturday, March 5

On Saturday, March 5, 2022, the Town of Frisco will host the Susan G. Komen® Snowshoe for the Cure. This unique event will bring participants of all ages from around the country to the Frisco Nordic Center and enables individuals to connect their philanthropic spirit with their love for experiencing the outdoors.

The weekend’s festivities will start with the Frisco Flamingle Pink Party, held at Highside Brewing on Friday, March 4 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. This is an early packet pickup and welcome event, complete with complimentary refreshments.  Day-of registration begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 5, at the Frisco Nordic Center, located at 621 Recreation Way. Participants, many clad in pink tutus, will stroll their way through a 3K or 5K course in an effort to end the world’s most-frequently diagnosed cancer.

Komen Colorado believes all Coloradans deserve access to quality breast health care services to help reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised stay in Colorado to help underserved women. Komen Colorado’s 22-county service area provides mammograms, diagnostic testing, treatment, and education. The remaining 25 percent of funds are invested into national breast cancer research.

“We’re proud to host an event here in Frisco in support of something as crucial as cancer research and preventative and treatment resources. It helps that this event is about fun, fresh air, and a chance to spend time with friends, family, and like-minded people, from cancer survivors to everyone affected by cancer in one way or another,” stated Zane Myers, Town of Frisco events manager.

Registration is open online at KomenColorado.org. Registration is $50 in advance for ages 13 and older (through Friday, March 4 at 9:00 am), and $60 at the Frisco Flamingle party and the day of the event. Kids ages 12 and under are free with a registered adult.
