Nordic Ski Lessons
Whether its your first time on snow, or you enjoy our trails every week, a private lesson with one of Frisco Nordic Center’s skilled instructors offers optimal attention to your specific needs. The Frisco Nordic Center only offers private lessons, rather than group lessons where unrelated participants of varying levels are put together at random.
- A full-day trail pass is included in all lesson prices.
- Rental equipment is not included.
- Consider buying a Lesson Punch Pass if you would like to build your skills throughout the season. Lesson Punch Passes include four lessons and are $260 (this reflects a $10 savings per lesson). The lessons are fully customized to your skill level and desired technique. They are non-transferable and must be used by the same skier. Lesson punch passes are good for one year from the purchase date.
- There are two sessions available at each time listed below.
- Please plan on arriving approximately a half hour prior to your scheduled lesson if you will be renting equipment
What is the Difference Between Nordic Skiing and Cross Country Skiing?
The terms “Nordic skiing” and “cross country skiing” are often used interchangeably. Classic and skate are two different techniques under the Nordic skiing umbrella.
Beginners should opt for a classic ski lesson in order to build a strong foundation for all other techniques.
Learning the basics of skate skiing is typically a multi-lesson process. Skate skiers should have good balance and be physically fit.
Off-track skiing lessons are fundamentally classic technique but are geared for people who have wider skis and would like to learn how to ski off of the groomed trails.
***Please note that Frisco Nordic Center is not a downhill ski resort. There are no lifts, we do not teach downhill skiing or snowboarding, and downhill and/or snowboarding equipment is not suitable for our trails.***
Private Ski Lessons
Private ski lessons provide a friendly learning environment to learn the basic fundamentals of the sport or focus on your personal goals, while our instructors provide you with the skills and drills to take your ski technique to the next level.
All of the lessons at the Frisco Nordic Center are private and are tailored to your individual needs. Classic, skate, or off-track options are available. Please indicate your preference when making a reservation.
Skate and Classic Ski and Snowshoe Rentals
Skate ski, classic cross country ski, and snowshoe rentals are also available at the Frisco Nordic Center.

2025 Skate Ski Clinics
Women’s Skate Ski Clinics
Women’s Skate Ski Clinics are a great way to develop skills, and meet other women who are interested in learning and skiing together. Join our local instructors as they teach the fundamental techniques of skate skiing.
Participants must have previous ski experience, good balance, and be physically fit. If you are unsure if skate skiing is a good fit for you, consider signing up for a private skate lesson first.
Each clinic meets weekly for four weeks, excluding holidays, with 2 hours of instruction each day. 2 instructors per clinic (depending on enrollment), max 15 participants. (At least 3 participants are required for a clinic to run.)
Clinic days may not be switched to make up for missed sessions and there are no discounts provided. If you are unable to make all four days please consider taking private lessons instead as instruction is progressive throughout the clinic.
Rental equipment is included in the registration fee. Trail passes are included in the clinic fee for non-season pass holders and a corresponding discount is reflected in the season pass holder clinic pricing.
Refund policy: In order to receive a full refund, you must cancel at least seven days from the start of your session. Any cancelations made after that time will not receive a refund.
