Sailing on Dillon Reservoir with Sail the Summit

Sail the Summit, an independent concessionaire operating out to the Frisco Bay Marina, offers sailboat rentals with or without a captain, catamaran charters and tours, learn to sail programs, and specialty tours and charters, including Dillon Amphitheater cruises. They are located at end of the courtesy dock in the cute blue houseboat, and reservations are required.

Catamaran Charters and Tours

• Schedule- afternoon from 1:00 – 4:00pm or sunset from 5:30 – 8:30pm
• 2022 rates- private charters have a $500 minimum for one to three people and are prorated for up to 10 more people total
• This catamaran is spacious with seating for up to 10 people with cozy seating on the net and mid/aft hard decks.
• Guests are invited to operate the vessel with the captain when conditions allow.

Sailboat Rentals and Charters

• The Pearson Ensign 22′ is a classic sailing keel boat and is available for rent with or without a captain. This safe heavy weather keel boat can accommodate eight people total including the captain.
• In order to rent this sailboat without a captain, a designated skipper must pass a verbal quiz to verify that they have the capabilities, knowledge, and experience to sail on Dillon Reservoir. This can be a very challenging reservoir to sail and ensuring the safety of everyone on board is the first priority.
• Sail the Summit encourages renters to understand their own abilities and to seek instruction from Sail the Summit’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff if they are unable to safely navigate the often gusty high altitude Dillon Reservoir.
• Schedule- Two time slots are available each day: afternoon from 12:30 – 3:30pm and sunset from 5:00 – 8:00pm
• 2022 rates- $314-$473

Sail the Summit understands that learning is a process supported by repetition, and their goal is to spend as much time on the water repeating drills as possible.
