Youth Nordic Skiing Programs
The Little Vikings is an after-school, learn-to-ski Nordic ski program presented by Town of Frisco and Summit Nordic Ski Club (SNSC). The program is open to youth in grades K-5. Join us for one of two six week sessions that meet after school at the Frisco Nordic Center. SNSC will provide top-notch coaching and a fun-filled environment for learning or improving Nordic skiing. Transportation is provided for Frisco Elementary students, and all gear is provided through the Frisco Nordic Center. The focus of this program is having fun on skis. It is non-competitive and open to all abilities with a special focus on learning to ski and developing good classic technique.
Please have your child come to the program prepared to be outside; we highly recommend dressing them in layers that include a hat, gloves, warm socks, ski/snow pants and a warm jacket. If you have a headlamp, please send it with your child.
Program will meet on Mondays from 3:30pm-5:15pm and Wednesdays from 4:15pm – 5:15pm at the Frisco Nordic Center. Participants must be able to attend both days of the program; it is a progressive program and skill will be built from week to week. Each session is open to 26 participants.
Session 1: January 14-February 6, 2019
Session 2: February 11-March 13, 2019 (No Little Vikings February 25-March 1 for Summit Winter Break)
$100 per 4-week session
If your child attends Frisco Elementary, the Town of Frisco Recreation Department employees will provide transportation to the Frisco Nordic Center for this program. Transportation is only available for Frisco Elementary students, but students from other schools are welcome to register with their own transportation.
