About the Frisco Adventure Park

Nestled among mountains that feel close enough to touch, and featuring a variety of quintessential Colorado outdoor fun just one mile from Main Street, there are many ways to choose your own adventure at the Frisco Adventure Park!

The Adventure Park is located within the Peninsula Recreation Area, which has miles of summer hiking and biking trails and winter Nordic trails along the shores of Frisco Bay and Dillon Reservoir. The trails wind in and out of the White River National Forest, where you can also grab a picnic spot or reserve a campsite.

The Adventure Park offers year-round activities and amenities, including snow tubing, a beginner ski and ride hill, hiking, biking, skateboarding, and disc golf. We also host a variety of events, including races for kids and adults.

There are so many fun things to do here–and from here!

Winter Activities at the Frisco Adventure Park

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to hang out in a snow globe, here’s your chance, because winters in Frisco are just that magical.

Located across the road from the Frisco Nordic Center (where you can cross-country ski and snowshoe), the Frisco Adventure Park has several fun winter activities. These include tubing on our lift-assisted tubing hill, learning to ski on our beginner ski and snowboard hill, sledding on our traditional sledding hill, and sleigh rides.

Note: Reservations are required for tubing. Check tubing availability and book reservations in advance.

Helpful tips for planning your visit to the Frisco Adventure Park

While most summer activities at the Frisco Adventure Park are free, winter is a bit different.

Pro tip: Don’t just show up hoping to go skiing or tubing or to take a sleigh ride or you’ll be out of luck. Snag reservations for a weekday if possible. Weekends and holidays are very busy and sell out quickly.

  • Tubing reservations can be made online.
  • For sleigh ride reservations, call Two Below Zero at 970-453-1520.
  • For beginner ski/snowboard hill tickets, call 970-668-2558.

Also, the Nordic Center offers Nordic ski and snowshoe rentals but the beginner ski and snowboard hill does not offer ski or snowboard rentals. Check out local sporting goods stores in Frisco, just minutes from the Adventure Park, for ski and snowboard rentals for the beginner ski and snowboard hill.

Summer Activities at the Frisco Adventure Park

Blue skies, fresh mountain air, temps in the mid-70s or 80s — Frisco summers are what vacation dreams are made of. The Frisco Adventure Park has so much you can do during the summer.

Free Activities and Amenities

The Frisco Bike Park has dirt jumps, a pump track, and slopestyle and dual slalom courses. The Frisco Skate Park was completely revamped in 2019 and has 28,000 square feet of jumps, bumps, and more. If you’d rather walk around than ride, then try the Peak One Disc Golf Course. You can bring your own discs or purchase them at the Frisco Adventure Park Day Lodge.

There are ball fields available for team sports or a game of catch, and last but not least, the Peninsula Recreation Area has miles of hiking and biking trails. To learn more about exploring the many hiking and biking options here, download a map of Frisco Peninsula trails.

Pro tip: Check the Frisco Adventure Park Facebook page for current weather and track/course conditions at the Frisco Bike Park.

Chuck Wagon Rides

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind Wild West experience at the Frisco Adventure Park: Chuck Wagon rides, which are available for a fee via a private outfitter and require reservations.

Rec Path access at the Frisco Adventure Park

The Peninsula Recreation Area also has a paved recreation path (known locally as the Rec Path) that makes its way through the Adventure Park. The Rec Path connects users to 55 miles of recreation paths throughout Summit County for road biking, walking, and running.

Camping and picnicking at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area

Parts of the White River National Forest cross the Peninsula Recreation Area. This land is owned by the U.S. Forest Service and is managed by the Dillon Ranger District. For this reason, the Town of Frisco doesn’t handle reservations for the campgrounds or picnic areas located there.

Frisco Peninsula campgrounds

The Peak One and Pine Cove Campgrounds are on the Frisco Peninsula itself. Reservations are required at the Peak One Campground and can be made online. You can also call 1-877-444-6777 for reservations. Pine Cove Campground sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
