Balance Bike Race
A tiny-tire race for children ages 1-4 years old. Race categories include riders ages 1-2 and ages 3-4. All participants will need to bring their own balance bike and helmet. Race course will be set up with cones and determined closer to the event date. Day of registration opens at 11:00am at Slopeside Plaza and races will commence starting at 11:30am.
Beginner Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic
Ladies and femme riders ages 18 and up will have the chance to learn from Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP) trained coaches from The Cycle Effect. This clinic is for beginner mountain bikers who want to progress their skills and feel more confident on the trails. The clinic runs from 12:00pm-1:30pm and is limited to 20 riders. Pre-registration is required through The Cycle Effect and costs $75 to attend. The Cycle Effect can provide bikes and helmets for participants, please indicate you need gear on the registration form.
Bike Games
Have fun with balance and win a prize in games like slow race, foot down and a trackstand competition. No registration required for these events.
Slow Race
Participants will line up at the starting line, then move forward as slowly as possible. The last participant to cross the finish line wins.
Foot Down
A small riding area is determined and all participants must bike within that small area, trying to keep their balance and/or force others to lose their balance and put a foot down. Participants with their feet down are “out” and stay within the riding area as obstacles for the remaining bikers to navigate. The last person riding wins.
Trackstand Competition
Riders attempt to perform a timed trackstand, a technique that bikers can use to maintain balance while their bike remains stationary or moves only minimal distances. Longest trackstand wins a prize.
