Join us for the 12th Annual Frisco Turkey Day 5k, presented by The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute on Thursday, November 27, 2025. This event will take place in Frisco, Colorado, on Thanksgiving Day. We encourage you to come out to have fun in the morning, while burning a few calories, before celebrating among family and friends later in the day. This event is open to all ages and will take place on the Summit County Recreation Path and Town of Frisco side streets.

Non-Profit Support

We invite all walkers/runners to make a non-perishable food donation at the event which will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) of Summit County. Also, a portion of the event proceeds benefits Frisco Elementary’s S.T.E.M. program. In 2024, this event raised $6,160 for the students in Frisco Elementary’s S.T.E.M. program!

Event Details

  • This fun event will start (and finish) at the old Community Center (110 S. 3rd Ave) at 9:30am on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025.
  • Strollers and well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Please keep in mind that course is typically snowy and could be challenging if pushing a stroller.
  • This fun run is not timed.

Registration

Pre-registration for the 2025 Turkey Day 5k is currently closed.

Limited onsite registration will be available, from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 and from 8:00am-9:00am on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at the old Community Center at 110 S. 3rd Avenue. If the race sells out on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, onsite registration will not be available on Thursday, November 27, 2025. We will update this webpage with the most up-to-date information.

2025 Registration Fees

  • Adult (18+) registration – $30
  • Youth (6-17 years old) registration – $15
  • Under 5 – Free – No need to register

Be Prepared for High Alpine and Snowy Conditions

This event will take place in a high-alpine environment where icy and snowy conditions may exist. The course will be on the Summit County Recreation Path and Town of Frisco side streets. The course will be plowed as conditions allow. The event takes place no matter the weather; snow or shine! Many businesses around Frisco sell traction devices for your feet from Kahtoola and YakTrax. Similarly, these shops also sell base layers, hats, gloves, and winter socks.

Packet Pick-up

Walkers and Runners may pick up their bib packet on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Old Community Center (110 S. 3rd Ave).

Day of bib packet pick-up will be from 8:00am – 9:00am on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Old Community Center. Walkers and runners will receive a race bib and commemorative Turkey Day 5k gift.

In order to pick up a bib and Frisco Turkey Day 5k commemorative gift, a waiver is required. If you are picking up a friend’s bib, then they must have complete the online waiver prior to your bib pick up. All participants must complete a waiver, or they will not receive their bib. For minors (17 and under), they may be included on an adult’s waiver form.

Post Race Party

The post race party will take place at the finish line at 3rd Avenue and Granite Street and will include sweet treats from Butterhorn Bakery, mini pies from Saved by the Wine, and hot coffee and cocoa for all participants. Upon completing the course, participants should check to see if they won an item from the chance auction.

Volunteer

We need volunteers to help on the course. Please sign up online to volunteer.

Racers Make a Donation

We encourage all racers to make a non-perishable food donation at the event. Donations will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. For every five items donated, you will receive an additional chance drawing ticket.

What to Donate?

Please consider donating shelf-stable, nutrient-dense foods such as:

  • Proteins: peanut butter, canned tuna, canned chicken, and canned beans
  • Vegetables: canned green beans, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, and corn
  • Staples: family-size flour, masa, canola oil, and whole rolled oats (no individual packets)
  • Baby items: diapers and baby wipes
  • Canned goods, rice and pasta will also be accepted.

Business Donation Sign-Up

The Town of Frisco is seeking donations for the Chance Auction. Winners of the Chance Auction will choose the prize they’d like to win from a pool of donations from Frisco businesses. Donations make this event a highlight for participants, and the emcee will proudly announce and thank all businesses who have donated items.
