Join us for the 8th Annual Turkey Day 5k presented by The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute. The run will take place in Frisco on Thanksgiving Day. We encourage you to come out and burn a few calories before celebrating with food, family and fun! This event is open to all ages and will take place on the Summit County Recreation Path and Town of Frisco side streets. We invite all racers to make a non-perishable food donation at the event which will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Frisco Elementary’ s S.T.E.M. program.
The race will start and finish at the old Community Center (110 S. 3rd Ave) at 9:30am. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome. Please keep in mind that pushing a stroller may be challenging at times with snow on the course. This is a fun run. The race will not be timed.

This race will take place in a high-alpine environment and icy/snowy conditions may exist. The race will take place on the Town of Frisco Recreation Path and Town of Frisco Side Streets. The race course will be plowed to the best of our ability. The event will take place snow or shine!
Registration for 2021 to be announced based on Public Health guidelines.
Registration includes a commemorative Turkey Day 5k item for all paying participants. Pre-registration is encouraged as this event will sell out.
Runners may pick up their bib/packet on Wednesday, November 24 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Old Community Center (110 S. 3rd Ave).
Day-of bib/packet pick-up will be from 8:00am-9:30am on Thursday, November 25 at the Old Community Center. Runners will receive their race bib and commemorative Turkey Day 5k t-shirt at this time.
In order to pick up your bib and racer gift you must sign a waiver. If you are picking up a friend’s bib, you must also have them print and sign the waiver. All participants must complete a waiver or they will not receive their bib.
Summit County weather varies in November so we recommend dressing in layers for this run. Don’t forget to pack a beanie, gloves, and Yaktrax (for extra grip in the snow/ice) if you have them!
We recommend any type of running or hiking shoe for this fun run. As mentioned above, portions of the course will not be plowed or shoveled and runners will pass through areas of packed snow. There are many options out there that provide additional traction for runners.
There is no designated parking area for this event. Frisco has parking available on Main Street as well as many side streets. Please carpool if possible and plan to arrive early to allow time to walk to the Old Community Center to pick up your bib/packet.
Bring your own cup or water bottle to help us cut down on single use cups during the event!
Post Race Party
Post race party to be determined based on Public Health guidelines.
Not interested in running the 5k? We need volunteers to help on the course. Please check back for more information on volunteering in 2021.
Make a Donation
We encourage all racers to make a non-perishable food donation at the event. Donations will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. For every five items donated, you will receive an additional raffle ticket to put into our Chinese Auction.
