Turkey Day 5k

Event Info

Join us for the 9th Annual Turkey Day 5k, presented by The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute. The run will take place in Frisco on Thanksgiving Day. We encourage you to come out and burn a few calories before celebrating with food, family and fun! This event is open to all ages and will take place on the Summit County Recreation Path and Town of Frisco side streets.

Non-Profit Love

We invite all racers to make a non-perishable food donation at the event which will benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. A portion of the proceeds benefits Frisco Elementary’ s S.T.E.M. program. In 2021, this event raised $6,530 for the S.T.E.M. program!

Race Details

The race will start and finish at the old Community Center (110 S. 3rd Ave) at 9:30am. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome. Please keep in mind that pushing a stroller may be challenging at times with snow on the course. This is a fun run. The race will not be timed.

Participant Info

Attire

Summit County weather varies in November so we recommend dressing in layers for this run. Don’t forget to pack a beanie, gloves, and base layers if you have them!

Footwear

We recommend any type of running or hiking shoe for this fun run. As mentioned above, portions of the course will not be plowed or shoveled and runners will pass through areas of packed snow. Our friends at Peak Running in Breckenridge sell Kahtoola and Yak Trax traction devices for your tennis shoes.

Parking

There is no designated parking area for this event. Frisco has parking available on Main Street as well as many side streets. Please carpool if possible and plan to arrive early to allow time to walk to the Old Community Center to pick up your bib/packet.

Green Event

Bring your own cup or water bottle to help us cut down on single use cups during the event!

Post Race Party

Post race party will take place at the finish line. There will be cookies from Butterhorn Bakery and hot Wassail. Participants can check to see if they one an item from the Chance Auction once they cross the finish line as well!
