Town of Frisco Announces Summer & Fall Race Lineup for All Ages

The Town of Frisco is excited to offer a full summer lineup of running and endurance events, ranging from untimed kids’ races to various distance running races, as well as a scenic mountain duathlon. Race events go through September with a mix of road, paved recreation path, and trail races.

Frisco Duathlon

The Frisco Duathlon taking place on Friday, July 10, 2026, will feature trail running and mountain biking on the scenic Frisco Peninsula trails and is open to all ability levels. All racers will receive a commemorative Frisco Duathlon item with their race registration as well as a commemorative finisher gift.

Friday, July 10, 2026, 8:30am at the Frisco Adventure Park

Registration

The 2026 Frisco Duathlon registration is open.

  • Individual Adult Registration – $95
  • Team Adult Registration – $275
  • Youth 17 and under will receive a $10 discount on the race fees listed above.

Races will be chip-timed, and BC Consulting will provide professional timing services.

Awards will go out to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as male and female age group winners. A post-race party will be held at Slopeside Hall to celebrate crossing the finish line and will include music, food, and drinks for participants to enjoy.

Mountain Goat Kids’ Trail Running Race Series

For the eleventh year, the Town of Frisco is hosting a series of four kids’ trail running races at the Frisco Adventure Park. Kids may choose from three distances, ranging from a half mile, just over one mile, and just over three miles, and parents are welcome to accompany their kids during the fun-run. In celebration of their accomplishment, all children will receive a finish gift as they cross the finish line, and pizza will be offered post run.

When & Where

All races take place at the Frisco Adventure Park. The starting line is located at the Frisco Nordic Center, and races will begin at 5:45pm.  Remaining races for the summer 2026 include:

  • Tuesday, July 14, 2026 Course Map (distances include 0.5 mile, 1.6 mile, and 3.1 mile)
  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026 Course Map (distances include 0.5 mile, 1.5 mile, and 3.4 mile)
  • Tuesday, August 11, 2026 Course Map (distances include 0.5 mile, 1.5 mile, and 3.4 mile)

Race Distances & Suggested Ages

The age divisions described below are only suggestions; if a child wants to run a longer or shorter distance than listed for their age category, that is okay. They should choose the distance that they would like to run.

  • Mini Goats (suggested for kids 4 years and under): .5 mile course
  • Junior Goats (suggested for kids 5 years to 8 years): 1.5 or 1.6 mile course
  • Senior Goats (suggested for kids 9 years – 13 years): 3.1 or 3.2 mile course

Registration

Online race registration is open and includes a finisher gift and snacks. All children who are registered for the entire series will receive a Mountain Goat Kids series gift.

  • Child Pre-Registration (closes at 2:00pm on the day of the race) – $15 per race or $45 for the entire series
  • Child Day-of Registration (5:00pm – 5:30pm at the Frisco Nordic Center) – $15 per race

This is a fun run, so the race will not be timed. All kids must register to race. Parents run for free but must fill out a waiver at registration.

Run the Rockies Trail 5K, 10K & Half Marathon

The Run the Rockies Trail 5k, 10k, and half marathon will lead runners through the Frisco Peninsula trails with breathtaking views of Dillon Reservoir and the Ten Mile Range. This is a great course for a first-time half-marathoner or runners looking for a fun course that offers a course with a mix of single track trails and dirt roads. Racers will start and finish at the Frisco Nordic Center.

When & Where

Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Frisco Nordic Center

  • The half marathon will start at 7:30am
  • The 10k will start at 7:45am
  • The 5k will start at 8:00am
  • There will be no wave starts; all racers will begin at the designated times listed for their race.

Registration fees include a finisher item, a well-marked course, stocked aid-stations, professional timing, post-race food, and post-race beer (racers 21+.)

5K

  • Adult (18+) registration with registration gift* – $45
  • Adult (18+) registration without registration gift – $30
  • Youth (under 18) registration with registration gift* – $35
  • Youth (under 18) registration without registration gift– $20

10K

  • Adult (18+) registration with registration gift* – $65
  • Adult (18+) registration without registration gift– $50
  • Youth (under 18) registration with registration gift* – $55
  • Youth (under 18) registration without registration gift– $40

HALF MARATHON

  • Adult (18+) registration with registration gift* – $90
  • Adult (18+) registration without registration gift – $75
  • Youth (under 18) registration with registration gift* – $75
  • Youth (under 18) registration without registration gift– $60

*Gift only guaranteed to racers who register before July 1, 2026.

Races will be chip-timed, and Maverick Sports will provide professional timing services. Anyone who would like to walk the race is highly encouraged to register for the 5k to ensure that they make the cutoff time of 10:30am.

Awards will go out to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as male and female age group winners. A post-race party will be held at Slopeside Hall and will include music, food and drinks for participants to enjoy.

Run the Rockies Road 10k & Half Marathon

The Annual Run the Rockies Road 11k and half marathon will feature the traditional, fast road course, which the race has become known for, and which showcases the beautiful fall foliage along the Ten Mile Canyon recreation path. Runners will start near Copper Mountain and will follow the paved recreation path to finish on Main Street in Frisco. The 11k course is 100% downhill, and the half marathon course is 75% downhill. A shuttle service will be available to take racers from Main Street back to their cars at Copper Mountain after the race.

Saturday, September 19, 2026, with runners starting near Copper Mountain and ending on Frisco Main Street.

  • The half marathon will start at 8:00am
  • The 11k will start at 8:30am
  • There will be no wave starts; all racers will begin at the designated times listed for their race
