The Frisco Historic Park and Museum is excited to announce the return of Park After Dark, a free, community event series that provides fun, educational, and historic experiences for all ages. This year’s lineup includes a telescope event with stargazing guided tours led by AstroMark on Saturday, June 27, a meteor shower guided tour with AstroMark on Tuesday, August 11, and a modern twist on an old-fashion community dance during a silent disco at the Museum on Saturday, September 19.

Stars and Scopes with AstroMark on Saturday, June 27

On Saturday, June 27, from 8:30pm – 10:30pm at the Historic Park Gazebo, AstroMark and his team will invite attendees to learn about how to use telescopes to observe the night sky. This will be a chance to learn about your telescope if you own one and haven’t had a chance to figure out all the features, as well as checking out one of the free telescopes onsite. There will be two opportunities to participate:

1. Attendees may sign up for a guided walking tour with star gazing. Attendees will learn how to identify constellations while learning their history and mythology, during this free guided walking tour and exploration of Summit County’s sky.
   
   The two walking tours will be at 9:30pm and 9:45pm and will be 40 minutes in duration. Space is limited to 10 participants, and advance registration is strongly recommended. To reserve your spot, please call the Frisco Historic Park and Museum at 970-668-3428.
   
2. Attendees may bring their own telescopes to the Frisco Historic Park Gazebo or use one of the telescopes provided onsite. This option does not require a reservation.  

Astronomy with AstroMark on Tuesday, August 11

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 9:00pm – 11:00pm at the Historic Park Gazebo, attendees will have the chance to learn about the night sky during the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower, including information about how to navigate the stars with AstroMark. There will be two opportunities to participate:

1. Attendees may sign up for walking tour where they will learn how to identify constellations, while learning their history and mythology. This is a new free moon guided walking tour and exploration of Summit County’s sky with telescopes.
   
   The walking tours will start at 9:00pm, 9:15pm, 10:00pm, and 10:15pm and will be 40 minutes in duration. Space is limited to 10 participants, and advance registration is strongly recommended. To reserve your spot, please call the Frisco Historic Park and Museum at 970-668-3428.
   
2. Attendees may bring their own telescopes to the Frisco Historic Park Gazebo or use one of the telescopes provided onsite from 8:45 pm to 11:00 pm. This option does not require a reservation.  

Silent Disco on Saturday, September 19

Paying homage to the town dances of Frisco’s past, this silent disco at Frisco’s Schoolhouse Museum brings people together with music, movement, and fun. On Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, attendees will celebrate the official end of summer and welcome fall to Frisco with a modern-day community dance. There will be a DJ providing multiple channels to choose between on wireless headphones, mocktails served by Building Hope, and a pop-up, water-based, temporary tattoo booth.

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum provides the opportunity to travel back in time to experience history in an up-close and personal way right on Frisco’s Main Street. The Museum’s collection of original historic buildings, including the Schoolhouse Museum, contains artifacts, exhibits, and photographs that tell the lively stories of Frisco’s past and reflect the Museum’s philosophy of embracing history, while also connecting it to our lives today.

The Historic Park is open from 10:00am – 5:00pm Tuesday – Sunday and is closed on Mondays.
