Fast Downhill Course Returns for the 48th Year of the Run the Rockies Road 10k and Half Marathon on Saturday, September 21

The Town of Frisco will host the 48th annual Run the Rockies Road Races on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The half marathon will kick off at 8:00 am, followed by the 10k at 8:30 am. Racers will start at Copper Mountain and follow the paved Summit County Recreational Pathway through the Ten Mile Canyon, crossing the finish line on Frisco’s Main Street. The 10k course is 100% downhill, and the half marathon course is 75% downhill. This course will showcase the beautiful fall colors in Frisco. Racers and all other Tenmile/Vail Pass Recpath users should expect, respect, and be aware of all users, and non-racers should anticipate heavy runner traffic through 11:30 am on Saturday, September 21.

Race Details

Races take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 with the start at Copper Mountain. All runners will drive themselves to the race start at Copper Mountain’s Far East Lot; Peak One Express shuttles will take racers back to their cars after they finish the race. Shuttles will continuously run from 9:00 am-1:00 pm, with the last shuttle leaving the Frisco Historic Park at 12:30 pm.

  • The mass start for the half marathon will begin at 8:00 am
  • The mass start for the 10k will begin at 8:30 am.

Races will be chip-timed, and Maverick Sports will provide professional timing services. Anyone who would like to walk the race is highly encouraged to register for the 10k to be sure to make the cutoff time of 11:30 am.

Registration

Registration is still available online at RuntheRockies.com. Online pre-registration will close at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024. If the event does not sell out, in person registration will be available from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Friday, September 20 and from 6:30 am-7:30 am on Saturday, September 21 at AC Hotel located at 1202 Summit Blvd. in Frisco.

  • Adult (18+) registration without t-shirt – $40
  • Youth (under 18) registration with t-shirt – $45*
  • Youth (under 18) registration without t-shirt – $30

HALF MARATHON

  • Adult (18+) registration with t-shirt – $75*
  • Adult (18+) registration without t-shirt – $60
  • Youth (under 18) registration with t-shirt – $65*
  • Youth (under 18) registration without t-shirt – $50

*T-shirt sizes are only guaranteed to racers who register before July 1, 2024.

All racers will receive a commemorative finisher item, post-race food and a post-race beer for racers 21 years old and older. Awards will go out to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as male and female age group winners.
