The Frisco Nordic Center, located on the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area, will close for the 2025–2026 season on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 due to diminishing snowpack and forecasted warming temperatures. March 17 will be the final day of skiing at the Frisco Nordic Center for this season. Closing day was originally anticipated to be Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Staff have worked throughout the winter to maintain skiable terrain despite extremely limited snowfall this season. Currently, approximately two kilometers of trail remain open, though conditions are expected to deteriorate further in the coming days.
Despite the challenging snow year, the Frisco Nordic Center was still able to successfully host several community events. The DU Invitational Nordic races, originally scheduled for February 7–8, 2026 in Minturn, were relocated to the Frisco Nordic Center due to better available snow conditions. The venue also hosted the popular Frisco BrewSki and Frisco Freeze events this winter.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support and positive attitudes of our Nordic skiers throughout a very difficult snow season,” said Pete Swenson, Frisco Nordic Center and Trails Manager. “Our team worked hard to preserve as much terrain as possible, and we’re proud that we were still able to provide skiing and host several community events.”
Frisco Adventure Park Tubing, Ski/Snowboard Hill, and Terrain Park
The Frisco Adventure Park, also located in the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area, will remain open with tubing, the beginner ski/snowboard hill, and terrain park available as conditions allow. The tubing hill and beginner ski/snowboard hill are now open seven days a week through the end of March, with reservations available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
