Frisco’s Free Outdoor Concert Season is Back with a Variety of Artists & the Return of Rock the Dock at the Frisco Bay Marina

The Town of Frisco is excited to announce a full schedule of free concerts offered all summer long. Returning this year on Thursday, June 12, Rock the Dock will kick off summer on Frisco Bay Marina’s Lighthouse Lawn. This year, Frisco’s 4th of July celebrations will feature two concerts on Main Street on July 3 and July 4, and Frisco’s Concert in the Park series will return to the Frisco Historic Park with 10 concerts on Thursdays from June 19 through August 28.

Rock the Dock

Community members are invited to enjoy a free concert on Frisco Bay Marina Lighthouse Lawn to kick off the official start of summer. Guests will enjoy the sights and sounds of the Frisco Bay Marina along with free lawn games, food vendors, and drink specials from the Island Grill.

HeartByrne

HeartByrne pays tribute to Talking Heads and David Byrne, who fused pop, funk, art rock, and African rhythms into the most adventurous, danceable, and timeless music to emerge from the new wave movement. HeartByrne picks up the torch where the seminal concert film ‘Stop Making Sense’ left off, breathing new life into the classics and pushing the grooves into uncharted sonic territory. What began as an informal ‘hoot night’ has evolved into a must-see touring act featuring vocalist Darin Murphy and some of Austin, Texas’s most talented musicians.

Diggin Dirt

This seven-piece band, emerging from behind the redwood curtain in Humboldt County, California, is skyrocketing through the west coast music scene. Shoveling out their own path, and consistently wowing audiences and filling concert venues, Diggin Dirt is no ordinary funk and soul band. Their sounds explode off stage with a pure authentic energy, and once they have you in their clutches, the relentless dance party does not let up. Their intoxicating and infectious sound is fueled by a blazing horn section, pulsating rhythms, and searing guitars. Tying it all together is the band’s frontman, who is in possession of the pipes, charisma, moves, and natural-born-soul to launch this ensemble into rarefied air. Behold, as they layer humble influences of psychedelic rock, Motown soul, Afrobeat, and even reggae, atop a sturdy foundation of late 60’s inspired funk music that provide flashes of James Brown or Sly and the Family Stone, Otis Redding or Tower of Power.

Concert to Benefit Mountain Mentors

Magic Beans have a passion for music that is as infectious as their songs, both of which have gained national notoriety in a short time. The band honors the wide diaspora of American music by incorporating the flavors of funk, R&B, rock, soul, and even some country influence into a complete package that is noticeably their own. Their latest release, Unzipped, is an all-instrumental tribute to lo-fi recording techniques, hip hop beat tapes, and 90’s neo-soul. Previous studio releases like Slice of Life, showcase the bands’ depth of songwriting and composition, as well as their knack for catchy lyrics. The Beans have extensively toured their analog dance music and neo-jam across the country, earning them an expansive fanbase.

Orgōne on the big stage at Main Street and 1st Avenue in Frisco

Orgōne is a pillar of West Coast soul music, maintaining an unmissable touring presence for more than two decades. The group’s arresting intensity, impeccable playing style, and undeniable, irresistible chemistry have earned them the reputation as one of the tightest bands of the modern era. A signature sound signified by lockstep rhythms and a deep grasp of soul and funk. Orgone is fresh off doubling as the studio band for discodelic sensation Say She She and circling the globe as the live band for their wildly successful world tour.

2025 Concerts in the Park Lineup

The Concert in the Park series is a local favorite and an ode to summer evenings in the Rockies. The series features bands from a wide variety of musical genres, including bluegrass, rock, reggae, jam band, blues, Americana, and more. Each week different local non-profits will benefit, helping to support their efforts in Summit County. The Concert in the Park series runs from 5:30 to 7:30 pm each Thursday and is free to the public. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and well-behaved, leashed pets to join in on the best family-friendly happy hour in Summit County. Attendees may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverage but must refrain from bringing their own alcohol, which will be for sale.

Wild Love Tigress

Concert to Benefit High Country Conservation Center (HC3)

An eight-piece band complete with horns, backing singers and the full spectrum of hairstyles, Wild Love Tigress plays hard-grooving modern funk music that combines high caliber musicianship with thoughtful songwriting. They put on a high-energy live show that always gets crowds up and dancing. Their most recent album, “On the Prowl”, was released in January 2025 and features the singles “Bendy King”, “I Plead the Fifth”, and “If I Can’t Run.”

Concert to Benefit Café Food Rescue

King Cabbage Brass Band is like a jukebox of funk, soul, jazz, and R&B, with a live show that transcends genre boundaries and captivates the audience with sing along songs that last all night. Eight performers driving the groove, fronted by a five-piece horn section, are on a mission to spread joy wherever they go.

Since its formation, King Cabbage has established itself as a regional favorite among people from all walks of life. Performing at festivals like SXSW and FORMAT Festival, which featured Leon Bridges and Alanis Morsette, as well as countless concert series, and selling out historic venues, the word is getting out about King Cabbage’s live show.

They’re known for their energetic stage performance and engaging sound.

A rising force out of Lexington, Kentucky, this band led by Joslyn Hampton comes out swinging on their sophomore album, ready to uplift and inspire through their singular and stirring soul-funk sound. 2019’s critically acclaimed debut album made them a favorite headliner at regional clubs and music festivals. After a grueling and relentless tour schedule, which saw them supporting Tower of Power at New York’s Sony Hall and Tyler Childers at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the band is back with Bona Fide, a sonically and emotionally charged record that captures their breathtaking live energy as well as their humanity.

The Big Onions

Concert to Benefit Summit County Library Foundation

The Big Onions are a culmination of the three original band members who bring diverse backgrounds and talents; a funk/blues guitarist, a jazz influenced drummer from Nebraska and a rock bassist from Colorado. The group formed under the auspices of open mic night at Frisco’s Back Country Brewery in 2000/2001. Forming a power blues/funk trio, the Onions cruised through numerous local gigs and clubs in Summit County for a number of years in the infancy of the now thriving local music scene. The band added a fourth Onion and keyboardist after a combined gig in Estes Park and remained a four-piece blues/funk band ever since. Stretching the boundaries of the 70’s music genre, the band features the early sounds of Hendrix, The Stones, Santana and Buffalo Springfield. Inclusive of later 70’s music, the Big Onions perform songs from Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Little Feat, and ZZ Tops.
