Frisco Turkey Day 5k Raises $8,080 to Support Frisco Elementary School

The Town of Frisco’s 12th Annual Frisco Turkey Day 5k, presented by The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute, raised over $8,000 in support of Frisco Elementary School’s S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program and other student initiatives. Held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, the beloved community event sold out, welcoming 1,500 runners and walkers of all ages, including families with strollers and four-legged participants.

The fun run wound through Frisco’s town and county streets as well as the Summit County Recreation Path, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. The event’s success was made possible through the support of generous sponsors and the dedication of community volunteers.

“Selling out this year’s Turkey Day 5k and raising more than $8,000 for Frisco Elementary is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said Grant McKay, Town of Frisco Recreation Programs and Events Manager. “It’s exciting to see the community come together year after year to support local students and help fund hands-on educational experiences that make a real impact.”

On December 18, 2025, the Town of Frisco presented an $8,080 check to Frisco Elementary staff and students, with funds going directly toward new experiential learning opportunities.

“At Frisco Elementary, we are so blessed to be partners with the Town of Frisco. They support so many activities that enhance the experiences of our students, families, and staff. The Town plays are large role in our ‘One Family’ initiative, that helps create a truly community-based school.” stated Todd Kirkendall, Frisco Elementary School Principal.
