Frisco Mayor’s Cup Returns on September 8

On Monday, September 8, 2025, the Town of Frisco, Copper Mountain, and Building Hope Summit County are partnering for the eighth year on a golf tournament at the Copper Creek Golf Course, and some sponsorship opportunities are still available. What started out as a small golf tournament in 2012 founded by then Frisco Town Manager, Bill Efting, became a fundraiser for Building Hope in 2017 and has since raised over $220,000 for Building Hope’s mission to create a more coordinated, effective and responsive mental health system that promotes emotional health, reduces stigma, and improves access to care and support for everyone in Summit County.

Mayor’s Cup Supports Building Hope’s Mental Health Care Scholarships and Programs
Building Hope believes that cost should never keep someone from receiving the mental health services that they need. Therefore, Building Hope created a scholarship program for individuals or families who cannot pay for therapy. Families, individuals, or couples may receive short-term funding to access therapy through an easy-to-use system, and because of support at events like this, in 2024 Building Hope was able to provide 581 scholarships for 5,185 therapy sessions. In 2024, Building Hope also trained 441 community members during mental health workshops, hosted 548 youth at 37outreach events, and presented 23 connectedness events attended by 239 community members.

The Tournament
This year’s event will once again pair fun with a meaningful goal, raising resources for mental health services in Summit County. Registration will include 18 holes of golf at Copper Creek Golf Course, a cart, a light breakfast, on-course bagged lunch, a post play BBQ, and prizes. The tournament is limited to 36 teams in a four-person scramble format with team and flag prizes. Mulligans will be available for sale onsite for $25 each with a maximum of eight mulligans per team. Check-in will begin onsite at 9:00 am with play beginning at 10:30 am.
