In celebration of International Women’s Mountain Bike Day on Saturday, May 2, 2026, the Town of Frisco is proud to announce the launch of a new mountain bike skills series designed to empower women, femmes, and non-binary riders across Summit County. Two years in the making, this four-week program will debut in August 2026 at the Frisco Adventure Park in partnership with VNTRbirds.
International Women’s Mountain Bike Day is a global initiative dedicated to encouraging women and girls to ride together, share experiences, and build stronger, more inclusive biking communities. Reflecting that spirit, the Town of Frisco’s new series creates a welcoming and supportive space for riders of all abilities to grow their skills, confidence, and connection to the sport.
“This program has truly been a labor of love over the past two years,” said Erin Socks, General Manager of the Frisco Adventure Park. “We saw an opportunity to create something meaningful for women and femme riders in our community, whether they are just getting started or looking to push their skills further. This series is about building confidence, fostering connection, and making sure everyone feels like they belong on the trail.”
Series Details
The VNTRbirds Women’s Mountain Bike Skills Series will run on Thursdays, August 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Each two-hour session is designed as part of a progressive curriculum, allowing participants to build skills week after week. Riders must register for the full series to ensure consistent coaching and development.
Participants will be placed into small groups of six riders per coach, organized by skill level and personal goals. Sessions will focus on essential techniques and trail features to help riders progress safely and confidently, whether they are brand new to mountain biking or looking to advance into more technical terrain.
Sessions will begin at the Frisco Adventure Park plaza and transition onto nearby Frisco Peninsula trails and the bike park depending on skill level. Helmets are required.
The series will take place rain or shine. In the event of unsafe weather conditions, sessions will shift to interactive indoor workshops covering bike maintenance, repair techniques, and essential riding skills.
The program is open to women identifying and non-binary riders ages 18 and older, with groups available for beginner through advanced skill levels.
