Frisco Announces Fourth of July Fishing Derby and Parade Winners

Frisco’s Fabulous Fourth of July celebration included a fishing derby and a parade down Frisco Main Street. 

The free Frisco July 4th Fishing Derby attracted over 100 youth anglers to the Meadow Creek Pond for one hour of fishing hosted by the Town of Frisco. Colorado Parks and Wildlife stocked the pond for the Derby, and prizes were provided by the Frisco Bay Marina and Town of Frisco.

2024 Frisco Fishing Derby winners:

1st Place- Jonny Brady of Aurora, CO

2nd Place- Elijah Majak of Dillon, CO           

3rd Place (tie)- Hannah Olson of Iola, WI, Emily Brown of Tigerton, WI, and Ethan Brown of Tigerton, WI 

4th Place- Thomas Newquist of Denver, CO 

5th Place (tie)- Jackson Nimmer of Castle Rock, CO and Kaitlin Olson of Iola, WI

“Frisco’s 4th of July is about celebrating our community and the schedule of events reflects that. We owe huge thanks to Colorado Parks and Wildlife for stocking Meadow Creek Pond for the fishing derby, to the community for participating in the parade, and to the spirited crowds for showing up and making the day such a remarkable celebration,” stated Grant McKay, Recreation Programs Manager for the Town of Frisco. 

The Frisco July 4th parade saw 70+ parade entries and 100+ kids participating in the bike parade. The parade, kicked off by the Frisco Police Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard, and Summit Fire & EMS, made its way along Frisco Main Street from Madison Avenue to 6th Avenue. 

2024 Frisco Parade Winners:

1st Place- Summit County Builders Association, with the Summit High School Tiny Home Project

2nd Place- Old Man Miner, Bill Lee, with his world champion burros

3rd Place- Frisco Arts and Culture Council, Breck Create, ArtSpot Silverthorne, and the Town of Dillon, with their artful recycled items float designed by artist Kia Neill

Parade winners may pick up their prizes at Frisco Town Hall on Friday, July 12.

The Town of Frisco offers a special thank you to all of the parade participants for taking time out of their holiday to decorate and participate in the parade and to Frisco July 4th parade emcee, Roman Moore.
