Due to warm temperatures and lack of early season snowfall, the Frisco Adventure Park tubing hill and Frisco Nordic Center will be pushing back their anticipated opening date from Thursday, November 27 to Thursday, December 4. This will allow staff more time to make the volume of snow needed to open Nordic and tubing operations at the Frisco Adventure Park.
Additionally, the Frisco Adventure Park beginner ski and ride hill is anticipated to open on Thursday, December 11, and the Frisco Railpark is anticipated to open on Friday, December 19, conditions permitting. Two Below Zero sleigh rides will begin on Saturday, November 22, but will be operating using their chuck wagon until conditions are optimal for sleighs.
Guests with tubing reservations between November 27 and December 3 will receive communication from the Frisco Adventure Park staff about a refund or rescheduling their reservations.
Winter at the Frisco Adventure Park & Nordic Center
The Frisco Adventure Park is located in the Peninsula Recreation Area and includes the Frisco Nordic Center with 28 kilometers of groomed Nordic ski trails for skate-skiing and classic cross-country skiing, plus eight kilometers of snowshoe trails that wind in and out of the White River National Forest along the shores of Frisco Bay and the Dillon Reservoir. The Adventure Park also offers other year-round activities and amenities, and notably in the winter, this includes snow tubing, a community ski and snowboard hill, ski and snowboard lessons, a rope tow accessed terrain park, a free sledding hill across the street from the tubing hill, and horsedrawn cocoa and dinner sleigh rides. The Adventure Park also hosts a variety of events, including the oldest Nordic race in Colorado, kids’ free ski races on the community ski and snowboard hill, Team Summit’s Eat Ski and Merry, a winter fat bike race, and even a costumed beer festival on skis and snowshoes.
- The Frisco Nordic Center lodge and office are currently open Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm and will be open seven days a week from 9:00 am-4:00pm once the ski season begins on December 4.
- Frisco Adventure Park winter activities, including tubing, will be available Thursdays-Mondays and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the season. More specific daily schedules are available at FriscoAdventurePark.com.
