Peninsula Recreation Area
Heading south on Highway 9 toward Breckenridge (1/2 mile south of Frisco on Highway 9), you'll find the Peninsula Recreation Area. The Peninsula contains:
- a multi-purpose field
- Peak One Disc Golf course
- picnic facilities
- several campgrounds
- a skateboard park
- ample parking
- an extensive trails system

In the summer and fall, the Recreation Area hosts mountain bikers and hikers who enjoy trails winding through the forest and along the shores of Lake Dillon. A ball field with a view of surrounding mountains and picnic areas attracts families and groups. In the winter, the Peninsula is home to the Frisco Nordic Center (see below) and a playground for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and biathletes.
Reservations for these areas are taken only after January 1st of the year of the reservation, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Town of Frisco does not make reservations for the camping and picnic areas located on the Peninsula. Click here for information on reserving the US Forest Service campgrounds and picnic areas, and search for any of the following campgrounds: Heaton Bay, Peak One, Pine Cove, Prospector or Windy Point.
Ten Mile Recreation Pathway

Intersecting Main Street and Summit Boulevard at several points is the Ten Mile Recreational Pathway. This 50+ miles of paved path stretches Vail to Frisco and Dillon and from Keystone to Breckenridge.
Bikers, hikers, Nordic skiers and in-line skaters make the trail a year-round playground, but residents and visitors also use it to stroll around Frisco.
For you fat tire fans, the surrounding area is a mountain bike mecca with trails ranging from beginner to expert. So don't forget to bring your bike or choose from a wide variety available at local rental shops.
Frisco Bay Marina
Discover 25 miles of pine forested shoreline around 3,300 acre Dillon Reservoir, encircled by the Swan Mountain and the dramatic Gore and Ten Mile ranges located at the end of Main Street in Frisco.
The scenic Frisco Bay Marina offers full marina services including slips and moorings rental, free boat launch, storage, boat accessories and tackle shop. The Frisco Bay Marina rents fishing boats, sailboats, pontoons, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats.
In addition its experienced staff provides sailing and canoeing lessons as well as a scenic, historic boat tour of the Dillon reservoir. Click here for more Marina and rental information.
Frisco Nordic Center

With more than 46 kilometers of trails for skiers of all abilities, the Frisco Nordic Center is considered one of the best in Colorado.
Located at the Peninsula Recreation Area, the Nordic Center is at once convenient and authentic, offering a first-class facility for skating, classic skiing and even snowshoeing, all in a true Rocky Mountain setting.
A variety of lesson programs are offered, along with rental and demo equipment, and each season the Nordic Center hosts several races for all types of competitors. The Nordic Center is typically open from mid-November to early April. Call the Nordic Center directly at (970)668-0866.

Frisco Historic Park & Museum

Located at 120 Main Street, the Frisco Historic Park & Museum offers visitors a chance to experience life in Frisco in the 1880's. The Park contains eight historic buildings including Frisco's original 1881 Jail, Log Chapel, a recreated Trapper's Cabin, Schoolhouse Museum, and four homes circa 1880's. Three of our buildings are homes to some of Frisco's finest crafters.
The Park buildings are open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday and open Sundays during the summer months. Admission is free. The Gazebo is available for rental on a limited basis for weddings and other get-togethers. For more information, visit the Historical Park & Museum page, or call (970) 668-3428.
Town Parks
The Town of Frisco maintains and operates a public parks system that provides great places to play for kids and adults alike. Walter Byron and Meadow Creek Parks are available to rent for group use such as weddings and picnics.
Walter Byron Park
Located at 4th Ave. and Creekside Drive, this park features a playground, gazebo/picnic area, large grill, public restrooms and a small paved parking area. The paved pathway runs through the property, which is 20 acres adjacent to Ten Mile Creek.
Meadow Creek Park
Features a small playground, covered picnic area, grills, handicapped accessible fishing dock and a parking area. This is a beautiful 4-acre park right next to the bike path. Located at Meadow Drive at Hawn Drive.
Reservations for Walter Byron and Meadow Creek parks are taken only after January 1st on a first-come, first-served basis. You must fill out an application to use a park for groups of 25 or more people. For groups of less than 25, you aren't required to fill out an application but must contact the Frisco Public Works Department to make sure the park is not already being rented. The parks are not available for reservations on holidays. You may download an application to reserve town parks here. Ski Resorts
Frisco is central to 5 premier Colorado Ski Areas including: Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland. Vail, Beaver Creek and Ski Cooper are less than 1 hour away allowing you to stay in Frisco and save money on lodging.
