FRISCO WELCOMES THE JUNIOR OLYMPIC SAILING FESTIVAL
FRISCO, COLORADO – Junior sailors will be making their way to the Frisco Bay Marina, July 26 through July 29 for the Junior Olympic Sailing Festival. At 11 a.m. each day, Junior sailors will be in Giberson Bay sailing small dinghies in various fleets, including, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Opti, 420 and potentially a full rig Laser and Feva. At the end of the festival, an award ceremony will take place on Sunday, July 29 at 3 p.m. at the Frisco Bay Marina.
To help catch the action and give to a good cause, the Frisco Bay Marina will be offering spectator boat rides for $5 for a 2-hour ride, wind and weather permitting. All proceeds from the boat rides will benefit the Junior Sailing Club and the Dillon Yacht Club. If you want to get even closer to the action, rent a kayak or canoe, reservations are available at the Frisco Bay Marina. Have your own boat? Boat spectator check-in will be located at the registration tent.
On July 26, Jim Young, a former Olympic sail coach will be running an all-day racing clinic. Jim will also be on hand for the first day of racing on Friday, July 27.
The Junior Olympic Sailing Festival is brought to you by The Frisco Bay Marina and The Dillon Yacht Club. This is a National Competition sponsored by the US Sail and the Dillon Etchells Fleet 31. All sailors 18 and under are welcome.
