Activities in Frisco

Surrounded by public lands on three sides and a pristine alpine reservoir on the other, Frisco is the ideal basecamp for year-round Colorado Rocky Mountain adventure.

For a small town (1.9 square miles), there are massive amounts of outdoor fun to be had in and around Frisco. Whether you’re visiting Frisco for just an afternoon or a weeklong vacation, there is always something fun to do here!

Frisco Adventure Park

You can start at the Frisco Adventure Park, where you can bike, skateboard, and play disc golf during the summer and go tubing in the winter.  Just across the road is the Frisco Nordic Center, with cross-country and skate-skiing and snowshoe rentals, lessons, and trails. If you’re craving a quintessential Wild West experience, you can go on a sleigh or chuck wagon ride.

So many trails!

There are miles of free access trails year-round such as biking, hiking, and running on nearby public lands, on the paved recreation path, and at the Peninsula Recreation Area, which extends into Dillon Reservoir, and has U.S. Forest Service campgrounds, and picnic areas.

Watersports

Named one of the “most Instagrammable places in Colorado” by the Colorado Tourism Office, the Frisco Bay Marina is a stunning setting for watersport adventures. Offering lessons, rentals, and repairs, you can rent a pontoon boat or go sailing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding on the blue alpine waters of Dillon Reservoir.

Scenic Drives

If you prefer exploring from behind the wheel for a change of pace or to get your toddler to finally take a nap, there are plenty of scenic drives to explore in and around Frisco.

Frisco is the perfect basecamp for area activities in Summit County

As the basecamp for Colorado outdoor adventure, we love recommending other places to go outside and play in Summit County. For example, Frisco is less than 30 minutes from six world-class ski resorts, including Breckenridge and Copper Mountain, where golfers will find some great options, too.

If you’re looking for recommendations for things to do in Frisco and the surrounding area, stop by the Frisco/Copper Information Center at 300 Main Street when you get into town. You can also email TOFinfo@townoffrisco.com or call 800-424-1554.

We realize that the list of things to do in and around Frisco is pretty long. It’s part of what makes this place so special. You can always return to visit us again to try something you missed the first time around.

You can always join us for one of our outrageously fun festivals or races, where you’ll always find a friendly welcome from locals.
