Traffic Impacts Info:

Spring I-70 road Improvements:

I-70 Twin Tunnels, It’s About: Time.  I-70 will be launching the I-70 Mountain Corridor improvement project by adding one eastbound lane from the East Idaho Springs Interchange to US 6 including expanding the eastbound tunnel to accommodate three lanes.

What does this mean?  In the future travel will be much easier in the future when this project is complete.

What does this mean starting in April 2013?  You will be detoured to the frontage road the parallels I-70 and Clear Creek.  You may experience 20-30 minute delays while blasting sequences are done to the tunnel.  Blasting sessions will not take place during high volume traffic periods.

For the latest on road conditions call 303-327-4034 for the daily traffic impacts. The recording is updated by 10 a.m. daily.
