Free Buckner Funken Jazz and fireworks show wraps up Frisco’s Autumn SpectaculariCal Import

The leaves are changing, the snow is dusting the peaks and fall is in the air in Frisco. Autumn Spectacular, a two-week long celebration of the sights, sounds and activities of fall in the mountains comes to an end with a bang, Saturday, September 22, 2012. The celebration wraps up with a free concert by Buckner Funken Jazz and a fireworks show at the Frisco Bay Marina starting at 5 p.m. So bring the kids, the dogs and the blankets for a great night to fall in love with Frisco.
Come get your groove on with Buckner Funken Jazz at 5 p.m. Lead musician Rod Buckner leads this jazz, soul and rhythm and blues band with a reputation for bringing the music hurricane to town. The show will feature old-school funk and be-bop, crashing together for a beat that is sure to have you dancing.
The Town of Frisco adds a little Fourth of July flair to the evening, with a colorful fireworks display, immediately following the concert. Town Council chose to use a portin of the fireworks scheduled for the Fourth of July in two different events this year. Kathleen Kennedy, Town council member, stated, “We wanted to have one more event to celebrate a great summer with our community.” The Town is working on logistics for a winter fireworks show as part of Wassail Days, December 8- 16, 2012.
Summit County Restaurant Association is providing the refreshments sales will benefit their donation to the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Please, no outside alcohol.
This event is pet friendly and limited parking is available at the Marina.
