ES2 Recycling
In the Summer of 2005, the Town revised its Development Standards, Chapter 180-20 of the Zoning Code, to require that all new commercial and multi-family development provide facilities for recycling. This requirement stemmed from strong public support as outlined in the Frisco Master Plan. The goals of the recycling regulations are to:
- Increase participation in the local recycling program. By adopting recycling requirements for new commercial and multi-family development projects, recycling will become more organized, available, and convenient for residents and business owners.
- Codify development standards for the management of recyclables.
- Provide accessible and functional recycling areas with minimum hardship for business owners and developers.
- Address recycling management at the planning phase of a project, rather than after the project has been built.
- Increase recycling convenience, and adding some flexibility to the zoning requirements that may result in an undue hardship for property and business owners that provide space for recycling.
- Assure that recycling containers are not placed in parking areas or Town Rights-of-Way.
The Town also encourages all residents, visitors and businesses to recycle. The nearestSummitCountyRecycling Drop-off location is at the County Commons, CR1004, off Highway 9 at the south end of town. Please refer to the the Town of Frisco recycling page for additional information.
