Inclusionary Zoning & Commercial Linkage
Inclusionary Zoning & Commercial Linkage are two zoning code techniques designed to encourage construction of affordable housing units, primarily are associated with private development and redevelopment.
- Inclusionary Zoning requires a certain percentage of housing units in a new development be deed restricted (i.e. 10%, 20%).
- Commercial Linkage is a requirement for housing a percentage of employee generation from the development of new commercial uses 3rd Avenue and Granite Street lot - .48 acres. Currently the lot is a gravel vacant lot, and is used for informal parking. Future uses include potential for parking and in conjunction with redevelopment of the Frisco Recreation Building (110 3rd Ave). Affordable housing opportunities will be considered with any redevelopment of the lot.
