Mooring Field Rules and Regulations:

With the utilization of the mooring field by our customers who would not normally be using the mooring balls and shuttles we would like to explain the rules and policies of the mooring field.

*Mooring balls are considered available when there are no lines or flagging attached to the ball.  The ball has to be attached to a chain not a cable in the water.  Cables are dock anchors and may have lots and lots of cable that you will drag with your boat.  The mooring balls closest to the shore at this time are not recommend to tie up to as they are shallow and have lots of scope and you will probably run aground when the wind shifts.  The balls that are labeled blob are for the very large boats with lots of weight and windage.  The boat must be tied up properly to your ball and to your boat.  Please ask us to show you how if you have any questions regarding how to do this.  We do NOT recommend carabiners of any kind even locking ones, the one time you forget to lock it your boat will come off.  If your boat pin-balls through the mooring field you will be liable for any damage done to other boats.

* The mooring shuttle will take you out to your boat and pick you up during operating hours.  Shuttle hours change, please inquire with the driver or the office.  To request a shuttle ride call the office at 970-668-4334 and give us your name, location, and boat name or type.  Please be aware that this is a courtesy shuttle and we will get you as soon as we can.  Also, we can only hold so many people.  If we have maxed the capacity on that shuttle trip we will come back to get you.  The shuttle boat is new and we are still working out the kinks how it maneuvers in wind and waves, please be patient if it takes a few tries to approach your boat or a dock.  Please stay seated as movement on the boat changes how it performs and steers.

*During our busy times or after hours there are 3 courtesy dingies to row back and forth from the mooring field.  Be aware that there are also private dingies there as well.  The Frisco Bay Marina dingies’ have the Frisco Bay Marina sticker located on the bow .  There are only 3 dingies, therefore you must row to your boat, then bring the dingy back, then go boating.  When you return from boating, come to shore, get a dingy, go tie up to your ball, and then row the dingy back.  We cannot have dingies left out on buoys while you are boating because there are only 3 and many mooring customers who may wish to use them.
