Volunteers
“Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen.” -Anonymous
Volunteers are the backbone of Frisco’s events. Our volunteers do everything from selling beer to moving tables to course-marshaling at races and judging at events. We could not produce our Main Street events without the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time year after year. As true ambassadors for Frisco, our volunteers put the friendly face on Frisco events and make events happen!
If you are interested in volunteering for an event held by an outside organization (i.e. Avon Walk for Breast Cancer), you will need to contact the organization directly. For assistance with getting in touch with these organizations, contact the Information Center at tofinfo@townoffrisco.com or 970-668-5547.
For the 2012 Event Season, here are the volunteer opportunities that are available directly through the Town for events we organize:
Saturday, May 19 – Frisco’s 2012 Town Clean-Up Day
Volunteers can grab a bag to clean up our community! Starting at 9:00 a.m., come to the Historic Park at 120 Main Street for your clean up area assignments and return to the Park at Noon for the Zero Waste picnic as an appreciation for your efforts! Local merchants are able to donate raffle prizes – donations are tax-deductible and a great way to spread local awareness about your business and support your community! Donations can be dropped off at the Information Center at 300 Main Street before the event – we can also arrange to pick up your donation. Please call (970) 668-5547 to speak with Information Center Manager Cristi Eckert.
Thursday, June 14-Saturday, June 16: 19th Annual Frisco, Colorado BBQ Challenge
Our largest event of the year, the Colorado BBQ Challenge attracts thousands of people to our Main Street and Town for this delicious and family-friendly event! This is our most demanding event of the year for volunteers (and our most popular). Apply online here: http://www.townoffrisco.com/events/bbq-challenge/volunteers/ Volunteers could sell tickets, pour beverages and should expect to be on their feet for multiple hours at a time. You can also check out volunteering through local non-profit organizations who benefit from sales at their respective booths at the BBQ Challenge.
Wednesday, July 14 – Frisco’s Fabulous Fourth of July Celebration!
Help the Town marshal the parade where local organizations compete for the Best Float!
If these opportunities interest you, or you would like more information, please e-mail Special Events Manager Nora Gilbertson at norag@townoffrisco.com. If you require assistance in getting in touch with another organization holding an event in Frisco, please e-mail the Information Center at tofinfo@townoffrisco.com or call (970) 668-5547.
