The SeasonFive Summit Games Frisco Triathlon

Saturday, July 12, 2014

This event is part of the 2nd Annual SeasonFive Summit Games. The Summit Games features a variety of competitions, clinics and races that include: SUP Races, Fly Fishing, SUP Yoga, a Dog Run and much more!

Are you looking for a new challenge this summer? Register for the Inaugural Frisco Triathlon that will feature stand-up-paddle boarding,  mountain biking and trail running.  This new twist on a triathlon is open to all ability levels and encourages athletes to take on a new multi-sport event.

How does this event work, you ask?  First things first, all racers must provide their own equipment for each leg of the event; stand-up-paddle board (SUP,) personal flotation device (PFD,) mountain bike, helmet and running shoes.  Don’t worry, if you don’t own a SUP the Frisco Bay Marina has some you can rent for the event.

Racers will be responsible for dropping off their mountain bikes and running gear at the Pine Cove Campground at the Frisco Peninsula prior to the start of the race.  Gear will be monitored by Town of Frisco staff and volunteers while racers are on course.  Racers will start the SUP leg (3k) of the event at the Frisco Bay Marina and make their way across the Dillon Reservoir to the Pine Cove Campground  where they will transition into the mountain bike leg (15k) of the race.  The mountain bike portion of the race will consist of inland single track trails and the trail running leg (5k) will consist of the Frisco Peninsula trail offering amazing views of the Dillon Reservoir and the Ten Mile Range and will also guide racers through some of the inland trails as well.

All racers are invited to attend a post race party and awards ceremony at the Frisco Bay Marina lawn following the event. There racers will receive a post-race meal, beer and can pick up their race tee shirt.  Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female finishers.  We will also have a prize giveaway following the awards, open to all registered racers.

Pre-registration for this event will be open until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11. Day-of registration will take place at the Frisco Bay Marina from 7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12.  Day-of fees are $60/individual or $145 for a team of three.  Click here to register online.  Don’t forget to check out the other great events taking place at The Summit Games on July 12 & 13 at the Frisco Bay Marina.
