FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the Colorado BBQ Challenge sanctioned?
A: Yes, the Colorado BBQ Challenge is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). KCBS works with Frisco from the start to make sure that we comply with the standards that are set by the KCBS for BBQ Contests.
Q: How do I compete at the Colorado BBQ Challenge?
A: Click here for the 2013 Competitor Application. We accept around 60 competitors for our event. Most competitors sell to the public but we leave a certain amount of spaces for non-sellers.
Q: How much does it cost to attend the Colorado BBQ Challenge?
A: The event is free to attend.
Q: Where do I park for the event?
A: Parking is the surrounding streets, please be careful not to block a private driveway.
Q: How early do I need to sign up?
A: BBQ Applications become available on our website, www.friscobbq.com; we recommend that you turn your application in as soon as possible as it will determine your space on the street.
Q: How do I become a judge?
A: Fill out the Judging Application form.
Q: Are pets allowed at the event?
A: No, pets are not allowed due to food safety concerns for your pet and others. Your pet would probably enjoy staying at home much more than getting their feet stepped on, eating chicken bones someone may have dropped on the ground, or sitting in a hot car waiting for you. Maybe take them a doggie bag of goodies from the event instead!
