2014 Schedule


7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - Team Summit Pancake Breakfast (110 3rd Ave.) $10 for adults and $6 for kids 8 and under. Last year they had great tasting sausage and light fluffy pancakes-you don’t want to miss breakfast!

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  – Kids Fishing Derby (Meadow Creek park behind Walmart). Kids get fishing help and tips from the Gore Range Chapter of Trout Unlimited. The event is free and open to children 12 and younger. Bring your own rods and bait-do fish like hotdogs?

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Summit Concert Band (Historic Park Gazebo). Get your fix of traditional patriotic tunes!

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Timberline Toppers (Historic Park Gazebo)-listen to a professional square dance caller and  watch this country dance swing!

11:45 – Kid’s Bike Decorating Contest. Bring your decorated bikes to the west side of Town Hall in the parking lot at Madison and Main St. at 11:45 a.m. Kids 12 and under are eligible. Children must be accompanied by their parents who must register and sign a waiver.   After registering, kids will show off their bikes to a small panel of judges for the top designs. Kids will then join the parade.  Children five and under must be accompanied by a parent or older child during the parade.Children MUST wear a helmet to participate in the parade.

12:30 p.m. – Fabulous Fourth of July Parade (Main Street from Madison Ave. to 6th Ave.) Special notes of this year’s parade: The parade will lead off with the official Grand Marshal, Marie Zdechlik who moved to Frisco in 1958. One of her favorite 4th of July memories is when the parade consisted solely of a newly married bride being pushed down Main Street in a wheelbarrow. This year’s parade will be a little bigger than that but feel free to bring your wheelbarrow!

If you have kidos that want to participate in the parade, they can do so by entering the bike parade. Bring a decorated bike/scooter/wagon to Town Hall west side parking lot at 11:45 to enter. Children must wear a helmet to participate.

1:00 p.m.  to 6:00 p.m.- Inaugural Summit High School Rock Skipping Contest/Fundraiser-like it sounds, show off your rock skipping abilities for prizes.

1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Buckner Funken Jazz Concert (Historic Park Gazebo)-old school funk music

3:30 p.m. -5:00 p.m. – Interactive Drum Circle with Peak Rhythm  (Main Street from 3rd Ave. to 4th Ave.) Free drumming on Main Street for all-no rhythm required.

7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. – Ernest Washington Funk Band (Marina). Unique musical renditions of jazz, soul and funk.

9:30 p.m. – Fireworks over the Frisco Bay Marina. Tune in to the simulcast of patriotic music on Krystal 93 – 93.9 or on www.krystal93.com
