The small town of Frisco will open up again in 2014 for a full weekend of patriotic activities beginning on Friday, July 4, 2014. Start the day off right with a pancake breakfast to benefit Team Summit at the Frisco Community Building at 110 Third Avenue and get your day started right. Fill your belly and your heart with good food for a good cause. Then wrestle up the little anglers for the Kid’s Fishing Derby at Meadow Creek Park (behind Wal-Mart) starting at 9 a.m. The event is open to children up to 12 years old. Participants supply their own poles and bait, and Frisco stocks the pond and provides everyone with a ribbon. Parental supervision must be provided for each participant.
Plan to line Frisco’s Main Street for that authentic, small town parade that will begin at 12:30 p.m. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for several categories of parade floats. Those who wish to join the parade must fill out an application and waiver. Call Town Hall at (970) 668-5276 extension 3074 or stop by to pick up a parade application. The parade application is also available online here.
Join us for a great music line-up and concerts that will have you dancing in the streets. The Summit Concert Band starts at 10 a.m. with a big band sound in the Historic Park. Then, start dancing after the parade with a band to be announced at 1:30 p.m. This smooth Rhythm & Blues band brings a Motown sound that will have you singing along. The finale concert takes place at the Frisco Bay Marina with the band to be announced. The concerts are free and adult beverages will be available. Please no outside alcohol.
