Buildings and Grounds
The and Grounds Department is responsible for all Town owned parks. The beautiful landscaping, Main Street flowers and Summit Boulevard medians are maintained by this department. There are seven full time employees in the Grounds Department.
Town Parks and Facilities
The Town of Frisco maintains and operates a public parks system that provides great places to play for kids and adults alike. Walter Byron and Meadow Creek Parks are available to rent for group use as well as the Frisco Bay Marina and Frisco Historic Park's Log Chapel and Gazebo. Of the seven parks and facilities available for rental in Frisco, these particular locations can accommodate private events such as family reunions, weddings, receptions and picnics. The Peninsula Recreation Area better accommodates small and large athletic events.
For more information on our parks and facilities, including photos, please visit our Parks and Facilities Information page.
Peninsula Recreation Area
Heading south on Highway 9 toward Breckenridge (about 1/2 mile south of Frisco), you'll find the Peninsula Recreation Area. The Peninsula contains a ball field, multi-purpose field, a disc golf course, a skateboard park, several campgrounds, picnic facilities, ample parking and an extensive trails system.
In the summer and fall, the Recreation Area hosts mountain bikers and hikers who enjoy trails winding through the forest and along the shores of Lake Dillon. A ball field with a view of surrounding mountains and picnic areas attracts families and groups. In winter, the Peninsula is home to the Frisco Nordic Center, a playground for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and biathletes.
Reservations may be made to exclusively rent the ball field, multi-purpose field or the disc golf course for tournaments. The Town of Frisco does not make reservations for the camping and picnic areas located on the Peninsula.
Town Parks and Facilities Permits
The parks and facilities are for the enjoyment of our visitors and citizens. Please visit the Public Works Administration page for park permit information.
