Planning Department

The Planning Department is part of Frisco's Community Development Department.

Current Planning

New development and redevelopment within Frisco's town boundary must meet the regulations within the Town Code. Specifically, Chapter 180, Zoning, and Chapter 157, Subdivision, detail development standards and subdivision requirements for any development project in Town.

The current planning office reviews and processes large development project applications that require a decision from Planning Commission, as well as smaller-scale development applications and permits, including sign permits and temporary banner permits.  The planning department is also charged with answering questions related to land use planning in the Town of Frisco, and enforcing the land use and zoning regulations.

Long-Range Planning

The long-range planning department oversees ongoing planning efforts, including Master Plan updates, Open Space and Recreation initiatives, as well as Economic Development activities. The department strives to integrate the community's long-range vision into formal documents, plans, and far-reaching efforts.
