Q: Is the Colorado BBQ Challenge sanctioned?
A: Yes, the Colorado BBQ Challenge is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). KCBS works with Frisco from the start to make sure that we comply with the standards that are set by the KCBS for BBQ Contests.
Q: How do I compete at the Colorado BBQ Challenge?
A: Download or fill out the BBQ Application form. We accept around 60 competitors for our event. Most competitors sell to the public but we leave a certain amount of spaces for non-sellers.
Q: How much does it cost to attend the Coors Colorado BBQ Challenge?
A: The event is free to attend.
Q: Where do I park for the event?
A: Parking is the surrounding streets, please be careful not to block a private driveway.
Q: How early do I need to sign up?
A: BBQ Applications become available on our website, www.friscobbq.com in November for the following years BBQ.
Q: How do I become a judge?
A: Download or fill out the Judging Application form. If you are not sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society you will need to take a judges class to become an official KCBS Judge. Then you will be able to judge at any contest that is sanctioned by KCBS.
Q: When is the Judges class held?
A: The KCBS judging class is held on the Thursday evening before the contest starts on Friday and costs $35 for KCBS members and $60 for non-members.
Q: How do I become a vendor at the BBQ Challenge?
A: Fill out the Vendor Application online and after May 1st you will receive a confirmation from the Town of Frisco
