Barbecue… you name it, we grill it or smoke it.
There’s is more to barbecue than just ribs, chicken, pork and brisket and at last years 14th Annual Colorado Barbecue Challenge we served up everything from fried bananas to lamb stuffed sausage, from jalapenos to alligator, if you could name it, we grilled it, or smoked it.
Of course barbecue is about the tender, juicy, smoked meat that just falls off the bone, but there’s so much more. Birdman BBQ takes that delicious smoked chicken and sausage, and chops it up for a Gumbo that will have you dreaming of the south. Pink Flamingo creates a stuffed sausage so sweet and delicious you’ll think its candy. Sausage like candy, not possible Pink Flamingo is a two time grand-champion in Frisco and you will have to taste their sausage to find out.
Hot and spicy are two adjectives traditionally associated with BBQ. But, these adjectives take on a new meaning when you’re talking about Jalapenos. Last year Frisco Main Street will played host to two different Jalapeno teams. BackDraft BBQ of Mira Vista will showcase their grilled stuffed jalapenos with bacon and blue cheese. 1-2 BBQ smokes their stuffed jalapenos for two hours to unleash an exquisite taste unlike anything else you have sampled.
And if your sweet tooth needs satisfying, we had 20 teams competing in the Dessert category. Funnel Cakes, Ice Cream and the Husky Team’s world famous BBQ Bananas will have you dreaming sweet dreams. BBQ Bananas sound intriguing? They are and you’ll see why the Husky Team dominates the dessert competition.
