Frisco in the winter is like walking into a Norman Rockwell winter scene. Or like being in a snow globe village! However you want to describe it, Frisco is a romantic and beautiful winter town. The activities in the winter are numerous for those that want snow action to those that just want to sip hot coca and watch the snow fall.
Active Winter Adventures
Opening Winter 2010-2011, the Frisco Adventure Park will feature a multi-lane tubing hill, jib park and an 8,000 sq. foot day lodge facility! Please check back for more information as we get closer to the winter season.
Frisco is centrally located to Summit County’s main 4 ski resorts. If you don’t feel like leaving Frisco, you can snowshoe the various trails around town, take your own sled to a sledding hill, and visit the Nordic Center where you can cross country ski, snowshoe and take lessons. Frisco is also a central location for pick up with companies that will take you snow mobiling or dog sledding.
Low Key Adventures
If you have already been on the go for a few days or looking for activities to do on a day off, Frisco and Summit County have a lot for you to do. Frisco’s Main Street is filled with unique shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Treat yourself to a massage, facial or pedicure to help you rejuvenate for your next exciting day. You can buy a hot chocolate and window shop while wearing your warmest winter coat and boots. Be sure to wander past the Historic Park and Museum to get out of the cold and be transported back in time! If you are wanting to continue your shopping adventure you can take a free Summit Stage shuttle to the Outlet Mall which is the next exit east after Frisco. Other indoor activities in the area include a gold mine tour, movie theatre, and bowling alley. To finish your day of relaxing and discovering other winter adventures, go on a dinner sleigh ride in Frisco with Two Below Zero where you will be whisked away on a sled pulled by draft mules with their jingle bells ringing in the air. The live entertainment is fun and the food is great!
