2014 Summer Youth Sports

The Town of Frisco Recreation and Culture Department is excited to offer a variety of programs for youth over the summer months!  To view a summer calendar of our programs please click here.  Registration is currently open for all summer camps; click here to register online.

Frisco Adventure Camp

This program is open to youth ages 6-12 that are looking to increase their knowledge and ability in the bike and skate parks.  Our instructors will guide the participants through all of the park features, beginning with the basics and taking them to the intermediate level by the end of the week.  All participants must bring the following to the program: bike, skateboard, helmet, pads (optional), water, sunscreen, tennis shoes and a sack lunch.

Dates: Session 1-June 2-6 session is fullSession 2-July 7-11 session is full and Session 3-August 4-8; class meets Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-5p.m. daily.  Please note that you may put your child on a wait list if the session you are looking at is full.  Simply walk through the registration process and it will prompt a wait list option.

Location:  Frisco Adventure Park (621 Recreation Way) Class will meet inside the Day Lodge each morning

Cost:  $205/Frisco residents and $230 for non-residents per session

Girls on the Run Camp

Girls on the Run is a program that uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.  Through interactive activities, such as running, playing games, and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being girls. The program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health.  This camp is open to girls entering grades 3-8.  Girls must bring their lunch to camp every day and dress appropriately for running outside.  Please come prepared with layers of clothing as the weather may vary.

Dates: Monday, July 21 – Friday, July 25 from 9a.m.-3:30p.m daily

Location:  Frisco Adventure Park (621 Recreation Way) Program will meet inside the Day Lodge

Cost:  $215 per person

Frisco Mountain Bike Camp 

Frisco Mountain Bike Camp is open to youth ages 6-14, our instructors will focus on all of the Frisco Bike Park features! Participants will learn body positioning, balance and how to maneuver obstacles. Participants should feel comfortable riding a bike and be familiar with braking, cornering, and pumping their bike. The class will also utilize Frisco Peninsula trails with instructors focusing on body positioning, balance, gear shifting, and maneuvering over obstacles on the trails. New this summer, camp will be divided into two age groups; 6-8 years old and 9-14 years old. Participants must bring: bike, helmet, pads (optional), water (Camelback preferred,) sunscreen, tennis shoes, and a sack lunch.

Dates: Session 1-June 9-13 session is full; Session 2- June 23-27 session is full, Session 3 - July 14-18 session is full, Session 4 – July 28-August 1; Camp meets Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.  Please note that you may put your child on a wait list if the session you are looking at is full.  Simply walk through the registration process and it will prompt a wait list option.

Frisco Camp H2O 

Camp H2O is a new water sports camp open to youth ages 9-15 for adventurous kids that want to explore Lake Dillon and learn kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, sailing, canoeing, and fishing skills. We will finish up our adventures with a whitewater rafting trip with Kodi Rafting. The Frisco Bay Marina will provide the necessary gear and expertise. Participants must bring: bathing suits, towels, sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, warm dry clothes, and water shoes. HERE is the tentative schedule for the week.

Dates: Session 1-June 16-20 session is full; Session 2-August 4-8 session is full; Camp meets Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-5p.m. daily.  Please note that you may put your child on a wait list if the session you are looking at is full.  Simply walk through the registration process and it will prompt a wait list option.

Location: Frisco Bay Marina (902 E Main St); Program will meet under big white tent.

Cost: Frisco Resident-$255; Non-resident-$275

Frisco Skateboard Camp

This half-day camp is designed for beginner and intermediate level skateboarders ages 6-12 years old. Our instructors will lead the participants step-by-step through our skate park features with a focus on balance, safety and technique.  Participants must bring: skateboard, helmet, pads (optional), water, sunscreen, tennis shoes, and lunch.

Dates: Session 1-June 9-13 session is full; Session 2-June 23-27,  Session 3-July 14-18; Camp meets Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-12p.m. daily.  Please note that you may put your child on a wait list if the session you are looking at is full.  Simply walk through the registration process and it will prompt a wait list option.

Location: Frisco Adventure Park (621 Recreation Way); Program will meet in the Frisco Day Lodge.

Cost: Frisco Resident-$80; Non-resident $90
